Cheerilee's been promoted to School Superintendent. It's a good job, but she misses being in the classroom. All that changes when Princess Luna asks the teacher to take care of a special student.
On a related note, the local vampire population increases by 100%.

Yes, you can now be the source of my procrastination once more.
When I was reading this chapter I got an idea for another Vampire Cheerilee story. On this moment Cheerilee is just an assassin for Luna and Equestria. But what if somepony or something convinced Celestia that Vampire's can't be trusted (maybe the Nightmare?). And because that Luna trusts vampire's Luna also can't be trusted. Now Cheerilee and Luna have to find out what or who controls Celestia while fighting AGAINST Equestria, but can they find the key to this mystery before the losses get to big?
Edit: And before someone says, can't you write it yourself. I'm an idea-guy. Can't write and certainly in a language that isn't not my own...

Oh right it's totallynotabrony and he had a extra day to write before it got posted.
I have some 20+ stories that update, TNAB you update almost as much as the rest combined.
It makes it hard to catch up on my 228 story read list and write the 1 story that is out and 2 more I am working on.
Noticed something. Both Cheerilee and Golden ring are identical cases. Both remained vampires after the pony who turned them was cured or killed. Something that normally would have turned them back to being ponies. Cheerilee was turned by Valiant - cured, Golden by Note - Killed.
Could this be the reason Luna wanted Cheerilee to save and teach her?
I find it funny how she's wearing the glasses and trench coat to be inconspicuous, but keeps her tiara on. That's almost as good an idea as the way the changelings broke through Canterlot's shield.

Lemme guess... Golden is going to have to go to Ponyville to help investigate soon, despite not feeling quite ready to rejoin society. (Cheerilee can't risk going alone, lest she be recognized, so she'll be in a supporting position, giving Golden orders and advice every day or something.) Before that, Tea is going to somehow suspect/discover that there's a vampire living next door. (Though I'm not sure what he'd do. He might trust Cheerilee enough to not tell on them.)

Second, yes I would really much see that too, but I don't think Twilight have that much patience.
Come to think of it, doesn't Valiant reminds you a little about Dan, from Dan vs. FIM, he also stays with Twilight, and is genially a big douche.
Well, it wouldn't necessarily be crashing on Twilight's couch on a constant basis for decades...
Cheerilee: "Valiant, what you you still doing on Twilight's couch?"
Valiant: "Oh, a zombie horde ripped my house down, so I'm staying with Twilight until you fix the problem! *tongue*"

Zombies in comic books were one thing. Possibly having them in your town was quite another.

I can't say I'm really satisfied by the emotional content here. I know you took a stab at it, but it's all telling and not much showing. I quote: "The schoolteacher reflected on some of the things she’d done. The point where killing became justified seemed to be getting closer lately. She’d also noticed her sense of remorse beginning to slip away." That there has no examples, no references to past works. You're just telling us that she's done some stuff. Seeing her actually question herself, say, during one of her missions would be so much better because you make it clear to us what Cheerilee is feeling by detailing her actions. Let's use an example from this story. When Cheerilee finds out that Luna wants her to take care of and rehabilitate Golden, you could have, say, had Cheerilee think back to when she broke almost every bone in Golden's body, just to make sure that Golden didn't TRY to escape. I think that's taking things a tad serious, and you could have had Cheerilee talk to Golden about it, apologize, or any number of other ways of expressing that idea of "repressing my feelings to get the job done". But you don't, and that is why I am disappointed with this.
And yet, I still give this a thumbs up. 
Set up the zombie barracades
Its a valid criticism. It is simply TNaB's writing style. I would describe it as short and efficient, and, other than humor, makes it somewhat mechanical and emotionless. (He's not TNaB, he's Creative Writing Robot #42 - its how he cranks out so much! 
)
Its not a bad thing either, I enjoy the writing, I have most of it favorited for a reason. The short chapters and efficient writing make for very casual reading. I have no expectations of vast, immersive, and draining sagas. It fills a necessary niche and I like it.
IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!
Ever since I wrote my first fic on this site, people have noticed that I'm good at two things: using less words, and writing decent battle scenes. To change things up, I'm going to reveal a lot of bottled up feelings and a good bit of backstory by making most of the next chapter dialogue (and a little attempted murder, because I can't change my habits too much 
).
Oh god now that tea knows there's a vampire, and if the village finds out...
