This is a good "origin" story, and not merely for Sunny's bookbag. While it is also a sad moment in her life, it works as a metaphorical passing of the torch, so to speak. The text is a little rough in places and could use an edit pass, but overall the story hangs together well. Nicely done!

Well that was a pretty sad story especially it kind of hit home for me anyway so it was an average day for sunny just skating through town and also meeting up with her friends at the Lighthouse and she hasn't seen her father yet thinking that he might be out so hitch sprout and the other pony named Ash decided to play hide and seek but before the game begins it was unfortunately that they discover that Argyle was still here but unfortunately he was lying on the floor not breathing and sunny was horrified seeing her father like that hitch tried to calm her down and told Sprout to call for help but unfortunately he was gone by the time the medical got there hitch father showed up so did Ash's grandmother and they wanted to take them home but hitch and Ash wants to stay with sunny so she won't be alone the father understood but unfortunately the grandmother is a different story she has the audacity to still call him a nutcase especially in front of a kid who just lost their parents that is so unexcusable and Ash yelled at her for it but her grandmother just pulled her out and basically never seen again just for out of spite what a witch but after a couple of months sunny and hitch move some of the stuff of argyle but she saw the present from him she was too emotional to open it but she wanted to it was a brand new handbag and with Twilight Sparkles cutie mark on it which that's pretty cool and probably that's why she loves that bag a lot and she will keep it for him and I'm sure she will make him proud which she did in the future this was a pretty emotional story and explains they origin of the bag that she always have keep all the good work

Wow I guess that explains what happened to the rest of the badges pretty sad and kind of hurtful as well but coincidentally izzy pipp and Zipp found a couple of the badges that Sunny lost and maybe they can give her the rest of them as a present that was pretty awesome all them to do that this was a pretty good story keep up the good work

My thoughts EXACTLY. Hopefully Ash didn't get too messed up in the following weeks/months. I may hold great disdain for certain political issues (orange ones in particular) but even I'm not so cruel as to spit on someone grieving doubly if they were a child. What else did she do? Go marching around Argyle's funeral with signs that said FAUST/HARMONY HATES UNICORNS or something?
What is worse is that there are people who would happily do this, not feeling even the slightest guilt for it.
In one of the newer episodes everyone in Maretime Bay (aside from her friends obviously) treats "Alicorn" Sunny as their bestest friend but regular Sunny could fall off a cliff and nopony would even blink.
