Writing’s pretty fun.

T

Many Equestrian philosophers, from the lowly Pluto all the way to the high and mighty River Muse, have written on the concept of ‘fate’. The script which the world must follow, the way things are supposed to progress, the way things are and always will be. Long have they, and many others, wondered what would happen if this fate were to change unexpectedly.
Punishment, that’s what.
Twilight Sparkle, personal student of Princess Celestia, is on the verge of a breakthrough on Starswirl’s last and greatest unfinished spell, and is just about to finish the spell herself. But, before she can, Rainbow Dash goes off script. Fate is forcibly changed, and now the world as a whole must deal with the consequences.
And they’ll learn never to stray again.

Nice job breaking it Rainbow, I'm sure Celestia will be very understanding and send you back with a spare copy.

An interesting idea to be sure, I'm always up for scragging with this paticular fixed point of canon.

i feel like there is stanly parabel vibes here

Or worse, Twilight could realize that the spell was to make a pony ascend into alicornhood, inform Celestia of that, and suggest that the spell be removed from the book and sealed under a bazillion magic wards.:pinkiehappy:

Well the book destroyed let's start the ripple effect how much would change because of it.

Unless the book itself was enchanted, couldn't you just, take every page out of the binding, fit all the bits together, and then copy the writing into a new book? It's not burned or soiled, it's just had a yomping great hole punched through it.

Good on Celestia though, very encouraging with no histrionics.

The hole was through the center of the book, from cover to… back cover, whatever you call that, and since horse legs are pretty big, you aren’t going to be getting more than two or three words per line from what’s left of the book. I did forget to specify that in the chapter though, so, yeah.

Fair enough.

Celestia really ought to have copied that book though. Ah well, hindsight and all...

Ah, an administrative position, just the thing for young Twilight to aspire to.

Does anyone else have an uneasy feeling that the importance of Rainbow's disappearance is inversely proportional to the importance of whatever it is The Script deems important?

Goodness, Nightmare was a veritable pillar of decorum, one wonders where that came from.

Well this took a dark turn.

That was a interesting story goodluck with the rest of it.

ripping her entire head with a single movement of her neck, flinging the decapitated head against the opposite wall, the limb bursting into black blood

Should be ripping her entire head off, and heads are not limbs.

This is a very different, if not unwelcome, take on Luna that I could have seen being canon.

well this went from 0-60 fast.
