I'm in love with this story
NEW SALVATION
*SCREAMS*
It's ALIVE!
.........excellent
Dash got wise! Quick! Evacuate to the rainboom shelter! Technicolor shenanagins imbound!
It's Alive! Yay! I really missed this fic. Although it's been awhile since I read it. Does an Aged up Scootaloo (Dash's biggest fan / honorary little sister) ever show up? Or is her little sister, like Soarin', a ghost of the past? And if so what happened between them?

In fact, all of the CMC play a significant part in the new one.

Yay! I can't wait to see Scootaloo. See how life's been treating her. And thanks for answering, I'm really excited to see what happens with this fic.

I always thought this was such an excellent RariDash fic because it broke down both characters, shaped them by experience and hardship into two new forms that would work together and justifying it with backstory. That it being your versions of Dash and Rarity that made this work. I see now how wrong that was, you have not changed their characters in the least whilst you have indeed built upon them.
Excellent portrayal of Dash
Another incredible chapter.
As soon as Dash went to Pinkie, I could see a revelation waiting to happen. Pinkie always seems to have a way of playing her lighthearted cheerful card in serious situations, which end up with ponies better understanding things.
Anyway, I sense a dream spell being unknowingly done to Rarity. But that is just a prediction.
Or is it?

Delicious
Wow pinkie showing she is more then just a party pony right here. I always love seeing Pinkie having greater insight into the struggles and difficulties her friends are having then she might let on. She may be a silly pony, but she knows how ponys think, and how they feel.
Come on Dash, here in ponyvile your friends have helped you make more progress towards getting your life back on track in a week then the bolts have in six months, maybe this is a thing that needs more thought put into it before you make up your mind so solidly.
You really capture emotions and reactions so well in this story. The scene with Twilight in this chapter was really painful, but a realistic reminder that for all of the good that her friends have in them, that in many ways they are still normal people, capable of making mistakes even when they have the best interests of their friend at heart... and that it's very hard for the people who love you to reach out to you when a part of you simply wants you to fail and hide away with your grief.
"like a copper wire drawn around her heart" - Nice imagery. It really reminded me of the shining copper wire that played such an important role (similarly metaphorical) in Watership Down.
"But she was Rarity. Beneath all those flaws was that one great virtue, her limitless generosity. It was enough to redeem her, to make her into not just a good pony, but one of the best ponies and best friends Dash knew. It was as magical as anything Dash had ever experienced." Beautifully stated. You know, you really have been a tremendous influence in shaping the way I see Rarity since I started reading here.
This is still one of my most favorite stories here, Gardez. I hope the impulse to continue writing this story hits you more often. 6000+ words isn't short, and this chapter didn't feel short, but I do wish you'd written more.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful... The double edged sword of their defining elements was fantastic. I loved when you brought it up with Rainbow Dash, but was absolutely blown away with its application to Rarity. I had never considered it before, and the tragedy of it was particularly delightful.
God this chapter was the best so far.
It updated?

so much....awesomeness. When can we expect the next update?
I knew dash was going to do something like this. Sir, please keep writing
I am very curious to know what rarity is hiding
I dunno why I hadn't liked and fav'd this story yet, I've been following it from square one and have been hanging on every word. It's really difficult to get through because the pain and tragedy of it all feels so incredibly real, but at the same time it keeps me coming back wanting to see them get through it in the end.
Of course, your writing style probably has a lot to do with it. I was a huge fan of The Contest and Naked Singularity, and you utterly blew me away with The Garden of Good and Evil (had never heard of a bacchanalia before so wow was that one gut-wrenching, no pun intended), so it's really no surprise this one keeps me riveted too.
I've probably owed you a million likes and faves and follows by now and I've been horribly lazy about providing them, so don't mind me if I suddenly spam your inbox with notifications a long time coming.
Keep up the incredible work.

Salvation updating.... character depth growing... looking likee Rarity will get help... brilliant metaphors.... loved that use of generosity..... crative juices flowing....
I have it! THANK YOU GARDEZ!
Another excellent chapter. I particularly liked how Dash sought out her friends after the dream incident, and how they helped her sought through her emotions (albeit Twilight's role was limited to 'punching bag.') It's a subtle but very important development from Dash's isolation -- emotionally, not geographically -- at the start of the story. The healing process is working.
Aside from that, I'm curious as to whether Luna's visited on Rainbow Dash's dreams at all. Salvation was conceived before her dream walking abilities were revealed, but it's still interesting to consider. Has she tried to help? Has she steered clear of what is obviously a very complex and messy psychological issue?
Sorry if someone else has asked this and you've answered, CiG. There are a LOT of comments to scroll through
It's like there's no way for my eyes to not be watery through this entire story. How do you do it? TEACH ME YOUR WAYS.
Updaaaaateee!!! I thought it would never happen!
And such a beautiful chapter, too. Im not too happy that this will end up as a RariDash, but whatever. Because no matter where you take this story, your writing is too awesome to turn away from it!

I appreciate it. When can we expect some updates on your side of the house?
4023014
.......The suggestion that you even know who I am both elates and terrifies me.
I guess it HAS been a while, huh? I got kind of stupidly addicted to Marvel Heroes in the last few months, left chapters of both HMSS and Growth Spurts half-finished as well as a PSI sequel. Trying to get back in the saddle, so to speak. I will do my damndest to do so soon.
So, Dash is going to return the favor and enter Rarity's dreams This will be interesting I look forward to see what happens here Now we know what Dash's pain is now finally we can get to the heart of the matter which is Rarity's pain The pain she has been hiding from the rest this is gonna be gud I WANT MOAR SOON! If that is alright with you
Damn, this was great. And I wish the show writers could portray this version of Pinkie Pie more consistently.
4025218
I would dare apply that wish to all characters. This is a definite good set of the Mane 6 characterization, superbly done and, at points, more consistent than their animated counterparts (especially with these recent episodes where the M6's personality's have been swinging back and forth).
Holy hell I've missed this story so much more than I remember. So glad to see it update.
I like where this is going.
Earlier in this story I said that I don't like how you write Pinkie Pie.
I don't know why I said that. Ignore that. Pinkie, as well as every other character here, has been a joy to read about.
I wonder what Rarity's been doing while Dash's been figuring what she wants to do next.
Words cannot express how much I adore this fic

Seeing this in the comments is like...
Like the first bite into a cherry and still having a whole punnet.
Like getting a piece of cake with the corner frosting.
Like seeing your own breath for the first time on a brisk winter's morning.
Like getting ice cubes in your lemonade after doing gardening on a hot summer's day.
changstaekwondo.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Achievement.jpg
Like that.
Fantastic.
EDIT: Of course, credit where credit is due, Gardez, that makes this the punnet, the cake, the crisp winter's morning and the lemonade itself.
Finally caught up, and this continues to intrigue me. Keep it up, man!
Dear Gardez,
You do me a very quiet service when you write with such intense passion. Without being silly, I can't really ever chalk up the right words for how pleased I am to sink into your writing. I don't even have a real way to describe the way your stories make me feel, as it's the feeling that only the greatest of stories can give you. It's a deep, deep longing somewhere in my heart that cries when the story's over, yet calls for more pieces to it all the same. It's that same sort of pining you get when you close a book and you want there to be more, more details about the characters and what happens to them after the story ends, but there really isn't.
I wonder, sometimes, if any authors know at all how truly deeply some of their words can touch. I don't think you do. And I am very grateful for yours.
Oh wow, I don't even know what to say. This was a fantastic chapter, so many emotions, all that pain... It has a deep feeling to it and I was so in love with your Fluttershy but I must say that Pinkie Really took the prize.
This whole fic has been a joy to read I will be very sad the day it's done, of course I want to see the end of this wonderful RariDash but a story as good as this is bound to leave a hole in my heart, leaving me wanting for more.
As soon as this one ends, I'll be sure to check out your other fics. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you so much.
(Crap, mis-click when I was about to post this comment and the entire thing is gone. )
This part with Fluttershy makes me wonder about how hilarious a flying pregnant pegasi probably looks like. Pregnant horses are pretty comical looking after all.
I think we were already AU with no Princess Twilight, but who would have thought that the library still existing would end up being a similar issue for timeskip fics.
Ooooo, and Twilight wasn't sleeping alone. Awkward. Yikes, that conversation could have gone better, but it could have gone worse. Somehow.
Thank goodness for Pinkie.
Oh gosh, here I am, back reading the new updates... I love to do them all at once.
You know, it was pretty fantastic the way you did that... have her run all around, all the friends making very compelling arguments, all talking to her just like they would. Pinkie, though, got through. And it made a lot of sense for it to be her. I really liked the back and forth between them all.
Oh. OH!
Shit's 'bout to get heavy.
4588643 'Scuse you? Shit hath got heavy. It's 4 in the bloody morning at this moment and I'm sick with emotion. The sheer range of emotion displayed in this chapter more than qualifies as heavy my dude-bro. I'm looking forward to taking a deep breath and just having the healing happen. Which if the last section is to be believed, we shall experience hence.
(It should also be noted that anything I'm saying probably isn't even remotely meant as spiteful despite how it sounds. I cover up uncertainty with sarcasm! See? We're all working through stuff!!
Still up in the air where this could go... I can't wait to see how this is going to end!
When did they change the name? I thought she was still in the same library, Golden Oaks.

Rarity has done goofed. But yeah, I can see Generosity doing that with pain. But equally as sad to think about this is Kindness. Anywho, lots of feels good chapter.
I think I recognize this line of reasoning from somewhere.
Love that outburst Rainbow directed towards Twilight. It does a marvelous job of showing how they feel about the situation.

That's all. loving the story btw.
The story up until now has been good, but this chapter added another layer. This chapter was exciting. It had a momentum previously unseen in the story. Just good drama.
Now that is an interesting take on Generosity. And Rarity as a whole.
I like how, in spite of everything, Rainbow realises that there's more than just Rarity "wanting to help", and that she (Rainbow) is not the only one who's hurting.
Alicorn
This story...there is just two things that really bug me about it:Rarity's self loathing, and the rampant shipping.
I expect the next chapter(s) will reveal just why Rarity hates herselfBest guess is that heir or his friends called her a slutty golddigger for having sex on the first date or something so that just leaves:why does everypony seem to ship Rarity and Dash the moment they arrive in Ponyville? Wanting to help Dash move on, maybe, I'd get that, but why ship her with Rarity of all ponies? Was there something going on before they left Ponyville that simply was never addressed? 'Bout the only thing I can think of why it starts instantly. They themselves becoming closer over the few days they are in Ponyville I can mostly see.
Real shipping hours, who up?
