After being neglected and overlooked too much, Spike decides he needs a friend of his own that has nothing to do with Twilight or the rest of the girls. Seeing as how he knows every pony in Ponyville he decides the next best thing. Build a friend. With a robot friend and the girls realizing how much they hurt Spike can they make it up to the dragon before he decides that his robot is the only friend he needs.
Takes place following the events of season 7 and the MLP movie, but before season 8 begins.

Spike's new robot would be his protector/guardian. Just like the good T-800 from the Terminator series. So a jealous mane six, or any new villain WON'T mess with him.
But NOT as Ultron, Metal Sonic, or Skynet.
I thought she be more angry at them, like any other "Spike neglect" stories I read.

I hope Pinkie understands that appreciation party is not enough to fix their relationship with Spike.
I mean, she remembers how it went with Gilda. Pinkie threw her a party, hoping that would change Gilda for the better, but it didn't work out.
So I think Pinkie should remember this lesson and understand that there are times when it takes something more than one party to solve the problem and make things right.
Great story, though I felt that the conflict came up too fast. My advice would have been to activate Dragotron without anyone finding out. Then, you can have a few chapters of Spike and Dragotron bonding with each other and actually enjoying each other's company. The girls also also oblivious to Spike's absence. Later on, you could have this scene where Spike confronts every pony and lays out his feelings

Then they get beat up, and go to prison. Because both Spike, the Mane Seven, and even the Princessess won't let them get away with it.
This kinda shows how twilight takes advantage of spike. He do almost anything to make her happy and in return she thinks nothing of his needs. Their parents might have not meant to make spike feel like he didn't matter compared to the other kids and certainly would have changed their behavior if they had known.
Wow wasn't expecting the subject of *Sibling Supreme* to be addressed here! Really wished Twilight's parents got to know about their treatment of infant Spike in canon but this works!
Besides we got to see Spike owning the Mane 6 & Shining on that episode like a boss so it levels out somewhat!

I was almost unsure what I wanted it to be. Between a jealous scientist who made their own version, or Dragotron gets reprogrammed by another to do their dirty work. But then I settled on the concept of something part symbiote and part shapeshifter
