    Movin' Right Along

After a long break—a year, was it? More?—I finally published something new.

Its reception has been rather lukewarm. That, of course, was to be expected. If anything, it's not quite as vehemently detested as I thought (though there's plenty of time for that to triple). And yet it still hit the "Featured Box." Go figure.

For those coming in here expecting me to make myself look like an ass and whine and complain about people "not getting it" or fall to my knees and proclaim "You're right it's shit" and then promptly remove it from the site, neither is going to happen. I'm not going to defend Miracles. It's not well thought out, the philosophy presented in it is highly and understandably divisive, the characterization could use some work, and the shipping—which oddly enough has not been a source of much ire—was a bit unnecessary.

But on the flip-side, I do not regret posting it. Actually I do regret posting it, but still... after such a long silence on the writing front, finally releasing something felt good (for about five minutes). That single action has increased the amount of ideas running through my head tenfold in the last few hours. I knew that getting back into horsewords relied entirely on just getting a foot in the door, and now that I've done so... well, let's just say that, barring death, I'm not going to go missing for long periods of time anytime soon.

And, really, I'm still okay with Miracles. It's not my best work, but it's not my worst either (looking at you, Egghead Tales and Where All Roads Lead). While, looking back at it, I probably should have not gotten all heavy-handed over the "morals" and "philosophy" involved, I'm still satisfied with the finished product. Not greatly satisfied, not even moderately satisfied, but slightly satisfied nonetheless. I'm already planning on writing a side story or two to Miracles, and this time around I think I'll keep the philosophy to a minimum and focus more on Twilight trying to figure out how to get a wheelchair up the steps to her castle.

As was honestly expected, this experimentation into "deep" writing has proven that I'm simply not that good at it. We all have things we're not good at though, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it.

Right now, I'm just happy to be back on the ponefic ride. Here's to hoping it doesn't end anytime soon.

Edit: After thinking it over, Miracles has no right to be on this site. I'm revoking it. If you want a link, just ask

In the heat of the moment, some ponies have a habit of letting things out. Sometimes they are minor things that most just shrug off and forget about in a matter of milliseconds. Sometimes they are things that, once revealed, shake the very foundation of their existence.

Rarity's latest revelation falls into the latter.

What's this? A RazedRainbow fic without death and/or depression? Ladies and Gentlemen, Hell hath frozen over.

Nice. No clop please?:twilightsheepish:

Ps, i see what you did there with the title. :ajsmug:

Don't worry, this is going to stay safe for work.

This appears to be interesting.. One question, should I?:unsuresweetie:

Without warning, Sweetie Belle began to rotate her head

Nice start!

Then Rainbow dies a slow, dramatic death in the hospital with Rarity racked with survivors guilt. There ya go, I finished your story. :rainbowlaugh:

Great fic so far! Good scenes and nice feelings throughout. Looking forward to moar.

I've got Pinkie's smile right now....

And that my friend, is no lie.

nice job cant wait for the next Chapter:twilightsmile:

Eehee! Yay, Raridash! That was basically my reaction when I saw this. There really needs to be more of that ship - ever since reading Salvation I've really warmed up to it. This looks great so far. It only makes sense (in the shipping world, anyway :derpytongue2: )that Rarity would hold on to the memory of being gallantly rescued and subconsciously look a little differently at her savior afterward. Can't wait to see what happens next :raritywink::rainbowkiss:

Wow, nice read so far. Can't wait for more. I always love the resolution of high-speed flight meets cliff-face stories, after all.

Oh, and the thing with Rainbow Dash and Rarity.

Brilliant. I'd like to read more.

Interesting. Lets see where this goes.

Razed you've got me wanting to read a raridash fic. You must be the best writer ever.

Wow. Your writing style is really good. The words flow very naturally, and there weren't any errors that were big enough to distract me from the plot.

Oh, and it's a good Raridash for a change. I mean, it's not that the shipping is bad, it's just that the stories about it aren't usually that good.

Definitely watching this one and you as well.

More missing/repeated words than I'd like, but a good story so far, looking forward to the rest.

HUZZAH! Bad time to pop a wingie, eh Rainbow? :raritywink:

I really like the build-up to the kiss--the details from the dream, Rarity's discombobulation in the morning, how the dreams plays itself out in the waking world. I especially like that Rarity doesn't seem head over heels in love with Dash but just at the stage of having a bewildering attraction.

Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

>>1265465 There have been enough of those already, with every character.

Very excited! Lookin' good so far.

:pinkiegasp: This is great!! Was that really 4k words? It was over in a flash, it was so good! I can not wait for more!

I like it! More please! :raritywink::rainbowkiss:

Dat cliffhangar...:pinkiegasp:

What, you mean one like this?

I could go for one that doesn't go this route, not that it was bad but a lighter one seems enjoyable. I will read now.

Warning the linked story is

Haven't read much fanfiction lately, and I decided to get back into it with this story. I'd up-voted and fav'd it by the end of the italicized text. :pinkiehappy:

You've got a great grasp on Rarity's character. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

One of the fake eyelashes was ripped away by her momentum. By the time it started to float through the air she was five hundred meters, her frightened scream a mere hum in the summer sky.

She was five hundred meters?  five hundred meters lower? away?   That was the only big problem I saw one small one was an extra "as"

However, Rarity was well-versed in the art, and was looking as dazzling in a matter of minutes.

Despite those this story is quite good so far, I'll be waiting for more.

Also you win the award for best use of Sweetie Belle magic lessons.  :unsuresweetie:

A RarityxRainbow ship fic? The most elusive of pairings! (ha, see what I did there?.....I"m sorry)

kk sounds good more please ;3

>>1272610 Oh you

Great story, and not just because you have my rad name on the bottom Razed my man.

Excellent beginning, I await this with eagerness.

Well, in the words of the Engineer..."Damnit Damnit Damnit!!"

I haven't read fan fiction in a while (Not since my Rio phase >.>) so I intended to stay out of it when I became a brony. Knowing what most fan fan fiction is like. (From the above comments, it seems the more common "Then one of them died, angst, woe, sadness beyond repair" type of fan fiction is prevlant") Of course, once I ran out of episodes to watch, and watched one too many fan projects on youtube, I came to Equestria Daily to see if they had any fix for my Pony craving. And lo and behold, a fan fiction. I was hesitant, but I decided "Hey if it's horrible you can live your life knowing you tried finding good fan fic's.". And ofc, the fan fiction I find happens to be GOOD. And I might go so far as to say great. Now Im not blaming you for getting me back into fan fiction....But Im blaming you for getting me into fan fiction. Anyways, I found it excellent, as you did emulate Rarity very well, imo. Will be watching this (And I suppose more fan fics thanks to you.:twilightangry2:). So here's to more good fanfiction! :rainbowkiss:

Fun fact: After falling 8 kilometers, you will pass out before you hit the ground.

That story picture broke my dick in half.

So I guess I'm the only one who finds it weird that Rarity was about to die and thought about everyone except the person who physically and metaphorically gave his heart to her, has experienced this same peril with her, and is one of the few who would've taken her death extremely hard? [scans comments] Yep, looks like. :facehoof:

>>1273576 Sparity fics abound SBL. Sad but true sometimes unrequited love does not get considered by the unrequiter.

>>1273670 It's not that I'm a huge Sparity advocate, but when I read a Rarity romance and see Spike inevitable involvement poorly addressed or addressed not at all, I can't help but be bothered by it. We all care about these characters, so it's only natural to care about what's important to them, and Spike and Rarity are nothing if not important to one another. It would make sense for someone as generous and considerate as Rarity to acknowledge his adoration and think of him during such a critical moment, especially if she specifically recalls her second plummet. If their relationship isn't as intimate or has changed in this time frame, the author should probably let us know before the romance begins.

>>1273860 There's a fic in the feature box that might interest you. Its a Spike/seapony fic that seems to include Rarity being jealous.

Oh Sweetie. You sure are great at magic! :unsuresweetie:

>>1273871 Reading that one, too. :ajsmug: Added to my last reply to make it a bit clearer.

A little question: when were the two times that Rainbow is supposed to have saved Rarity before? Once at the Best Young Fliers Competition, but I can't think of the other. Help me out? :twistnerd:

Secret of My Excess

>>1274127 Ah yes. Thank you.

Warning: SWEETIE.EXE has suffered a critical exception error

A RariDash fic that's actually managed to both catch and keep my interest?:raritystarry:

I shall follow this developement with great interest.

Only a shame its incompleat. Would love more!

>>1264700 Are you sure there's no death? I mean that cliffhanger ending there could lead right in to it.
