These are the laws and regulations put into effect to try and stop the minty menace from spreading chaos the likes of Discord would be proud of. Lyra is a gifted researcher that may be just a little unhinged in her quest to find out about how the world works. She also may have a small itty bitty obsession about humans.

Due to overwhelming positive feedback, I will be writing short stories that explains why these laws were enacted. Stay tuned.

This is a companion story to Boopy Doopy's story The Human Incident. In general this was just a fun side project and could also be considered a companion story to my own fic Painful Reprieve.

Re: Number 33. One cup per what? Hour? Day? Month? Second? I sense a loophole, here...

I want a Human to appear out of nowhere and prove Lyra is right about everything.

If you have any questions about the restrictions above or need to amend this document, please contact Captain Shining Armor.

Dear Shining Armor,

I'm writing this letter to you, as boring as it may be, to argue with one of the above listed rules that I take great issue with. Specifically, rule 15, subsection C. Grappling hooks are utensils. I was going to simply cover this rule with white out, but you ponies don't understand the legally binging properties of white paint on paper. So, even though this is the most boing thing I've done all week, I decided to rite an informal letter to have this rule removed.

To make up for this terribly dreadful formality, I've left a little surprise for you that will surly make up for it. Congratulations, by the way.

Sincerely, Discord Hearingmylastnamewouldcauseyourfirstborntobeanalicornifyoueverheardit, the Lord of Chaos.

oh, did Cadence happen to hear his last name once then?

Personally, I'd think rule 19 is absurd. If there is an absolute need for self defense, you must be covered in honey to do it properly, with your only clothing being a bowl helmet.

or as we would call it, the sequel.

go see the story "the human incident"

Here's another rule:

Don’t Post (Genres)

  • Things that obviously aren’t stories: lists, polls, previews, author notes, chat logs, etc.

Are you saying this fic shouldn't be posted? Because this story can best be described as either a letter or a fictitious written law, neither of which are prohibited under that guideline. It tells a story in a different way and is a complete work. I don't see your point.

10838823
Looks like just a list to me. The framing of allegedly being a letter is very very thin.

10838836
It does read more like a law, as the title dictates, I agree the letter veneer is a bit thin. However, do you seriously believe that this falls under "things that obviously aren’t stories?" Because I would say you are in the minority if you think this isn't a story at all. It's a different kind of story, yes, but I've read fics like this before and they have a home on this site.

10838840
I've read laws. This reads nothing like a law.

10838866
You never answered my question. Do you really think this isn't a story in any semblance of the word? Because no matter what form you think it takes, it should only not be posted if it is truly not a story at all.

10838871
In my eyes, it is not a story. As with most lists of this style, separate items look like they could have stories behind them, but it is not a story in its own right.

10838884
Well, perhaps we can agree to disagree. As with any creative format, there are items that blur the lines of what is and is not part of that format. The moderators are the ones who have the final say as to whether a posting should be taken down for violating any of the guidelines. There's no point in berating the point further.

Attention hater, go find the horse's ass you rode in on and get out

He's right and wrong at same time. This not of any story genre, it's something known as faux-document or mockumentary - portmanteu of mock and documentary, an imitation of documentary or of an official / formal document from different reality. It's a very niche and rather old genre and imho it needs its own tag. Those can take form of letters, reports, Ph.D dissertations, offiicial statements, etc. Obviosly, stories can contain those as components of wordbuilding, but mockumentaries can be their own thing as well.

He's right that this isn't a story. He's wrong implying that it's something wrong.

Now I want a sequel where a human shows up, but everyone believes Lyra transformed some poor pony.
So he is "transformed back" and they have to find evidence for his or her own humanity.

This reminds me of a quote from the Fairly Oddparents. For some context, one of Timmy's wishes causes such havoc, it leads to there being a rule against anyone making the wish again.

Cosmo's like ,"you really screw up when they have to make a rule against what you did."

This is good...

But it feels like I'm reading a shopping list.

This is all funny, but I would like to see HOW these rules came into being, that Lyra basically had a set of rules written against her.

This reminds me of the list of things Dr.Bright is not allowed to do in the SCP Foundation. I like it.

Jesus... How did she ammased that many rules without getting sent to a Asylum?

Cheese... Hm...

Mindblowing chapter :rainbowlaugh:

Lyra is insane... At least she isnt boring...
Guess that why Bonbon and Celestia like her...
Being a distaction from the normal :trollestia:

Dan

is an alumni

No! Bad! Human!Cadance should have gotten the rolled-up newspaper in Rainbow Rocks for that, and so does whomever drafted these.

Now I want to see her interact with the SCP foundation.

Oh my! I laughed so hard that I peed my pants a little.

So Lyra just invented Equestrian meth?

I can always appreciate official restrictions on Lyra’s shenanigans. Very fun stuff.

En uno de mis cursos de la universidad, había unos ejercicios a calificar que eran optativos. Cuando notaron que faltaban, me llamaron la atención y yo respondí que opté por no hacerlos. Al año siguiente, eliminaron ese título.

As Bon-Bon approached, she noticed that the photographs were of a certain white diarch as a foal.

Reminds me of Shadenfreude. Good ol'... actually horrible times, but made it all a little more bearable. I want the 90's.

Now i know and understand why Bonbon lives with Lyra. To protect Lyra and Equestria from herself...

Damn... Bext Foal fools day there will he Pwweincess Cewwwestia pictures everywhere :yay:

Awesome! Lyra created a Potencial way to teleport into the Dreamrealm! I guess one more reason to keep Lyra around. Unexpected revolutionary steps in Knowledge nopony ever expected! (◇_◇)/)♤

Agent sweet drops being assigned to a highly unstable magician makes a lot of sense.

Would be great that kind of story explored more.

I was thinking the same thing.

“Bonnie! I can’t see! I’ve gone blind!” A voice lamented. Each syllable was followed by an additional plume of flour and the sound of hooves smacking against a sack.

“Lyra! Stop flailing, you’re making it worse! You’re stuck in a sack of flour.” The second voice was followed by coughing and gagging.

These two need a sitcom.
