Reflected Equestria differs from canon in spirit, but not in function. Royals still meet, talk, and discuss yearly tax plans.
Determined to move past her Faithful Student status, Princess Fizzlepop has traveled to Changeling Grotto in the hopes of negotiating a tithe from Frau Chrys herself. She's thoroughly researched her opponent in advance of course, but what you see isn't always what you get with shapeshifters. Not to mention Frau Chrys is much wiser than she looks.
This is an entry in the Snippet Series, an anthology of old oneshots that I (and my good buddy Str8aura) wrote based around interesting pics I found. New ones will be posted every other Thursday for the foreseeable future.
That was really well-written! The Reflections story arc was teeming with potential for side stories about the inverted characters, like Princess Trixie or the outlaw Mane 6. Mirror Chrysalis and Tempest felt original and unique while still vaguely acting like their canon counterparts.
Eh
Nice. Although isn't calling it "Equestria Prime" timeline favoritism?
I remember this!
I like this dramatic irony where the characters in an AU make wrong assumptions about canon, and this case isn't even a double-blind what if.
I mean, she's not wrong.
Brilliant use of a canon AU, especially in how you had it echo what came after it in the show. Thank you for a fascinating glimpse at that world... though I do have to wonder just how well it lines up with the comics. Still, great stuff.

Dammit, I needed to go grocery shopping but this joke hit me instead:
Whole again in honor and horn.

Fizzlepop the Redeemed, one of the few bright spots in a twisted reflection of a brighter world...
Darn if it doesn't work. Now she just needs to singlehoofedly double the ranks of an army.
This whole short story was worth a read just for one word: Changelinguistics.
I like it, but I feel like "~988 shapeshifting emotivores got pied piper'd away" is the sort of news that neighbors and apparently lieges would want to hear ASAP.
i kind of want to read more of this...
