This story is a sequel to A Moonlit Storm

In a world full of multiple sapient species, espionage is a delicate art. No nation can rely too much on their majority species, lest their spies stand out like beacons of suspicion, and so the Equestrian spy network is surprisingly diverse, with some of the Crown's most trusted agents not being ponies at all.

Kisu has served Equestria loyally for years, and the zebra mare feels she's earned her retirement, but troubling news in a far-off land has her called into service again. Because she is one of the most trusted and loyal, and so Princess Celestia knows she'll be the most effective eyes and ears she can get in the middle of a kingdom gearing up for war.

Kisu must infiltrate the forces of the Storm King, sabotage his war efforts against Abyssinia, and most importantly, make some friends.

She was supposedly a hooffull of a foal, but she couldn't be much worse than Twilight Sparkle had been

Okay, I need a story where an infant Twilight has half of Equestria's espionage corps scrambling to keep up with her.

And there's already talk that he's consorting with cloud demons, among other troubling things.

We never did get a good explanation for what Strife was, did we?

When Kisu had been a young mare, snooping around where she shouldn't, and had found out too much.

That raises some intriguing questions...

Your duty is to the sun, and you'll never put it down.

If only she knew... though given that this is an AU, I suppose we have no guarantee of Celestia's long-term goals.

Ooh, Tempest. A very important friend to make indeed. Eagerly looking forward to seeing where this leads.

That was a good first chapter goodluck with the rest of the story.

Ever heard of Warhorseshoe?

Unfortunately, there was no way she could have packed enough minis.

In any case, lovely transition chapter as we get to know the team and their masks, even if it’s not always clear where one ends and the other begins. Still, an ominous note to end on. We’ll see how it goes from here.

That was a good chapter.

Kisu took a deep breath, dove within, and found the thin barrier between the physical and immaterial. Several orichalcum knives emerged, and a moment later, she got to find out what it sounded like when a storm screamed.

Knife-wielding assassin who specializes in killing the immaterial. That sounds familiar.

Nice to see what the changelings are capable of, especially when maintaining their cover. The question is just what the Storm King has planned. This could get very nasty indeed.

I like the callbacks to the previous story and how Tempest Shadow was introduced.

This was a nice chapter and establishing their covers is indeed important. I like the reference to Mass Effect. Chrysalis could only dream of controlling her drones the way Harbinger does with the Collectors.

This is a nice chapter it's good to see that the changelings are competent in dealing with difficult situations while keeping their disguise.
