Well... That turned stupid really fast. It went from rather good and mysterious. To "WTF was the author on when they thought this twist was a good idea? And not in a good way either."
Sorry. But the twist ruined everything about the story. And it was so good up to that point. Heck. If you hadn't even explained what Luna had learned, the story would be better.
Now it's a solid meh 😑😑😑.
It can't be just a simple monoalphabetic cypher. At the very least, it would seem like some combination of a Vigeniere and book cypher to be that secure.

Obviously this is before the end of season 7 (or Luna could talk to Starswirl himself) ...
With the many worlds theory, for one it is history, for a second it's legend, for a third it's a myth, and for a fourth it's entertainment ... and all are real (for various values of reality) ...
Do have top wonder what Starswirl would of thought if he had found out that his world is the fourth iteration and a fifth is coming ...
Star Swirl found a way to punch through the fourth wall!

Well there's Pony Life but that show is Crappy. Sorry Luna but I don't think you made it. I only watched up to episode 6 :P
Luna is forgetting the multiverse theory and the fact that Starswirl wasn't always right. He undoubtedly punched through to one of many dimensions and on asking himself is this the real life, is this just fantasy, he got caught up in an emotional landslide seeing no escape from perceived reality and came to the wrong conclusion.
