Shimmer Glass is the newest employee of the Sapphire Carousel, and she has every reason to distrust the place and the people who have taken her in. She especially has reason to be wary of the Carousel's bodyguard, Rainbow Dash, and her improper conduct around the other employees.
But the Sapphire is both more and less than meets the eye, and soon, Shimmer will discover the true nature of her employers and her coworkers, and decide if she wants to risk her heart with the irreverent guardian of the Carousel.
This is a fanfic of Monochromatic's Crimson Lips. Reading up to at least "Chapter 19: Shimmer Glass" is absolutely required for this fic to make any sense, though you should read the whole thing anyways since it's incredible.

I read the previous chapters as docs before, so I skipped ahead to this new one. You did a great job pulling at this one dangling thread in the Crimson Lips story and forming a great and fluffy romance, while staying respectful of the professions involved. I don't usually care for romances involving OCs, but this is a definite exception.
AAAAND caught up. Whew, been waiting for this to go live for a little while now. Its been fun to keep up with it in the docs, but its a different feel when it's on fimfic now.
Its all stellar and fluffy and a little steamy and Golly you've really made a great thing out of that little exchange about Crimson.

Oh my gosh this is amazing. I love the references to the other mono fics, and the "what if it goes right" thing, which is one of my favourite parts from Crimson Lips. Also you got Crimson!Rainbow down to a T (and Rarity too)

Great chapter! The interactions here were great, and it was interesting to see their viewpoints of the breakup. Shimmer panicking and Rainbow comforting her felt pretty real.

Final chapter, somehow didn't expect a proposal.
I was a bit concerned about repetition with stuff covered in Crimson Lips proper, but it was nice to get Shimmer's perspective of events, and we saw more of her talk with Twilight.
Overall, this story has been a really nice look at this corner of the Crimson Lips universe. And it more or less got recognized as canon by Mono herself! Definitely looking forward to more in the future.

I wish there was a fanfic where each one of rainbows hair colors was the color of one of her girlfriends. I also love that we're not stopping the train just yet.
