Rarity and Celestia are getting married, and the whole world is watching.

A series of vignettes about the wedding, not the marriage.

Why not talk about the marriage?

The best kind of Changeling invasion! Others can be dealt with soldiers and pass phrases but this? This is worse. This is a NUISANCE. Talking is so much harder.

RIP Disco Celestia

All three chapters so far were really sweet. I like how you depict Celestia as fairly reserved, but still with a palpable excitement at marrying Rarity, and Rarity has been Rarity. Looking forward to more.

I had an idea for a story where Rarity, Twilight Velvet, and Cadance all come into conflict about planning a RariTwi wedding, but I didn't think of Twilight and Cadance fighting about wedding planning. It makes perfect sense as presented here, and I loved their bickering. The terrible things that happen after the fighting ends also makes perfect sense. The others reacting to all this was great too, and I loved how they all got along in the end.

This was a great chapter, and I loved the way Rarity looked at that imprisonment spell in a different way. Also a good discussion of the immortality problem.

Given the title and opening, I'm a little disappointed didn't find an excuse to call Rarity "Madame le Mare", but I suppose it would be a bit of a stretch.

This was a great presentation of Rarity and Blueblood's relationship. Though all the charity talk makes me think that so much charity work wouldn't be necessary if Celestia just taxed the rich properly :P

These vignettes have been incredibly wonderful. The relationship between Rarity and Celestia is heartwarming, there's some good comedy, and just good slice of life world building.

I'm excited for when another update comes!

"The sole princess of Equestria cannot afford to do anything less than to play to win"
I'm a little puzzled by this bit. Is she just referring to experience gained before Luna returned?

I enjoyed the chapter, though. :)

Rarity just needs to find the address book with M. A. Larson's phone number in it.

Once again, this was a really sweet chapter. It was nice to see that while they started their argument in a confrontational way, they quickly defused it.

I like this chapter a lot. The only thing I have to about MLP immortality is its the universe giving you immortality?

It just seems a little biased shall we say? For sure their is no other generous souls that would do good work?

Another great chapter. Nice to see Celestia and Twilight talk about the marriage.

Also, we're still just at the engagement party?

The vignettes are out-of-order. This would be the earliest chapter chronologically.

It strikes me as absolutely bizarre that death would be spoken of as a ‘final reward’ by Celestia in a story that depicts immortality positively. Is their afterlife just that good?

There’s too many possible implications and I can’t figure out which you’re hinting at.

Gosh, with how much these center around the wedding I really hope that you wrap these up wonderfully and write a sequel that actually depicts the wedding. For a site that has so many romance stories there are a shocking lack of them depicting wholesome and loving matrimony.

Nice. :)
Anything in particular inspire the new chapter, if you don't mind me asking?

What an interesting turn in this story...I love it and heartily approve!

Though, RariTwi will forever rule my heat!

I'm eager to see how this turns out. And how stunning the wedding will be!

The mental image of Celestia in a drinking contest reminds me of the comic panel where she arm(foreleg)wrestled Big Macintosh.

Huh, didn't expect Sunsarity on the other side.
Contact between the EQG world and Ponyland is odd for me, because it's really interesting seeing characters talk about it, but I really don't care for seeing it actually cross over. So, this chapter was perfect for that, lol.
It was also great seeing Sunset and Celestia interact so casually like this. Love how they tease each other.

"If we decide to make contact with the rulers of the human world, Equestria will be sending their diplomatic team over to negotiate the exchange of knowledge and goods. There will be much distrust from both sides, and having a couple that consists of a human and pony will go a long way towards assuaging some of those misgivings." Celestia pushed the folder towards her. "I would employ you as an advisor on the Equestrian side, to aid the negotiating team in determining if they are being treated fairly. Given her skills in politics, I assume that your Rarity should be able to manoeuvre herself into a similar position on the human's side."

Celestia has had some bad ideas before, but that one takes the cake. It's "Long Parliaments and guillotines" bad. Best to pave over that portal and relocate it to the moon for good measure.

I don't recall anything in particular. The drinking contest part is probably Horizon's fault, though.

I'm of the same mind. I've written so many fics where First Contact has happened/will happen/is happening, but I have zero interest in actually exploring the details of such a scenario. I'm personally more drawn to exploring the character interactions that spring up from such a situation, especially with respect to Sunset.

Fair enough, and heh. :)

I'm finding this story rather fun. The short chapters work well.

When earth ponies tend the flora and steward the fauna, when pegasi manufacture the weather and change the seasons, when the unicorns bend the fundamental and esoteric forces of reality to their whims can any aspect of Equestria even be called "natural?"

I definitely hadn't thought of this.

Fluttershy can speak for those who can't speak, and might be the largest population in Equestria. Heck, the whole world. That it's Fluttershy is the only reason we don't have the Beast Master as ruler of Equestria is a blessing.

Neat to see Fluttershy take charge as a nature ambassador, and I love the vaguely menacing tone she gave off here.

Ah, so for blue, you went with Luna.
It's nice seeing Rarity interact with her future sister-in-law, and seeing the start of another romance.

Noc

This is probably my favorite chapter so far. Very nice. (Fitting title, too.)

That was a very fun chapter.

I hadn't considered that Rarity would have to divest from her stores. Even if they took a more Cheeto-faced view of this, Rarity still couldn't run her business in the same way, with the same assurance that her business comes from appreciation of her designs and not from her connections. It was pretty heartbreaking to see Rarity's reaction, but it was really nice seeing Celestia there to comfort her.

And of course, there's no doubt that Rarity will leave a legacy of her own... besides the things she'll already be in the history book for.

I don't think you have to worry about any of the "usual suspects" trying to crash this party - I don't think they're that dumb. :)

"'Look to my coming at first light on the fifth day. At dawn, look to the East.'" Twilight frowned. "What does that even mean?"

That he reads too much Tolkien.

This was a nice chapter, just showing Twilight in charge and delegating. I was about to comment on how you incorporated Twilight becoming the Big Princess, but then I checked and saw this story started after FiM ended, so this isn't the case of including a plot detail from after the fic started. Though regardless, this was a nice way to incorporate that. Pinkie's scene was a highlight too.

Rarity rolled her eyes. "I tell you no all the time, darling. For example, when you suggested last week that Equestria's currency should be pegged to the 'cake standard'."

In the ancien regime that would totally work.

Celestia shrugged. "Equestria will endure, as it always has, and grow from this experience. I still hope that one day there will be no need for princesses."

Maybe you should not hope for that, Princess. That event usually involves guillotines.

Another fun chapter! It's nice seeing Rarity and Celestia's interactions. I have to say, I didn't expect Celaeno to show up, or for there to be a, uh, diplomatic incident, lol

"Well, as interesting as it was engaging in diplomacy with an entire, unspoken population, I think we could do with a break after it."

"Uh, Your Majesty? A Mr. Lore Axe to see you."

"...Then again..."
