Scholarly-Cimmerian

A guy who loves movies, comic books, video games, as well as stories with colorful talking ponies in them.

E

Pinkie Pie's a big fan of Japanese giant monster movies. Even the cheesy, old ones. Especially the cheesy, old ones.

She's enough of a fan that one day, she decides to make her *own* giant monster movie, in tribute to the weird and wonderful stories of giant atomic lizards, aliens, and robots smashing cities and fighting each other.

Rainbow Dash thinks it's an awesome idea, and soon ropes in other people to help make "Pinkzilla" a reality.

(An affectionate tribute to the goofier side of Godzilla movies, classic Ultraman, and more. Inspired by, but not a sequel to, Tumbleweed's delightful story "GARGANTULON VS. THE SPACE DRACULAS".)

Solid start! I cannot wait to see more. :raritywink:

Also love how chill Dash is about Pinkie having fun being a Godzilla monster. hehe :rainbowwild:

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the start of this.

Hehe. Well, Dash and the other girls have probably developed a good enough, if not understanding, than at least expectations, for Pinkie Pie. Namely the "It's Pinkie Pie, don't question it," idea. And like the story says at one point, Dash's major surprise was probably less that Pinkie was dressing up as a monster, and more that she hadn't yet cracked the fire-breath part of it yet. XD

Limestone grumbled and muttered to herself a lot, but she helped out her little sister.

I like this. No seriously. For all that Pinkie may annoy her siblings, and she probably does more often than not, the Pies aren't dysfunctional, they all do dearly love each other, warts and all. I say this because giving one of the Mane 6 a Tragic Backstory in some form or another, usually related to family, is very easy. To the point where it's cliché, and not in a good way.

Thank you, and I fully agree with you as well. I love the dynamic with Pinkie and her sisters - unusual as they all are in their own special way, they clearly love each other, and that is far more unique and special than if Pinkie had run away from home as a filly, or if Limestone were just a straight-up bully.

I think that people either tend to forget that, while nobody's perfect or has had a perfect life, that not everyone's past has to be full of drama or pain; or has sadly bought too much into the notion that True Art is Angsty.

"GRONK! GRRONNNGK!!"

Oh no! A german Let's Player has invaded Canterlot City! Run!

The monster stopped thrashing the skyscraper, which actually was made of carboard, and then clumsily shuffled around to face the voice. It raised a claw and waved with enthusiasm.

That's just adorable...

She half-ran, half-waddled, across the basement floor to her older sibling, her still-costumed feet scattering toy cars and model buildings every which way.

Be glad you don't have an director because he would want to throtel you right about now :rainbowlaugh: Haveing to set all of this up again in the exact same way will be fun.

"Can you please come get the phone? ...And uh, help me out of this costume too, please?" Pinkie's voice added sheepishly.

Yep, these costumes are quite unwieldy.

"Marevel versus CapCorp: Eternal"

Ah, punny offbrand names! You gotta love them!

The scream of surprise came from when Dash opened the closet door just in time to have a person-sized rubber dinosaur costume come tumbling out, the headpiece nearly landing right on top of her.

Seems Pinki's secret is out of the closet now :raritywink:

"From Rarity," came the cheerful answer, "I asked her if she'd make me one, and she did!"

I'm slightly jellous of that...

Pinkie giggled. "I really wanted to make it do that!" She blushed a little, "But Limestone says I'm never allowed to even look at fireworks again after what happened last time."

That is simultaniously hillarious and ominouse.

This was really, really fun, espeically for a Tokusatsu nerd like me. Granted, I'm more into Henshin Hero's than Dai Kaiju, but still, this is still hits that sweetspot for me. I really look forward to more of this! Good job!

Thank you for the involved comment, I'm really glad that you've enjoyed this first chapter so much! :pinkiehappy:

Well, that's one way to do a Godzilla crossover. And not have to try and explain and justify Kaiju in Equestria. Leave it to Pinkie to be a fan of the franchise. Especially the... Things that try to pass as a movie in the case of several films.

When next chapter be out?
