Seconded. This is good.

This is the kinda story that would end up in a children's book of fables, a short movie thing on the internet. The point being it's real good, I greatly enjoyed it. Easy favorite.

This is good, really good. I was expecting towards the end that she'd lose it and be back to the way she was, pining for the stole and the youth it brought, but .. that ending!

The layers of puns in the title are glorious.

The horror here is very subtle, at least until the very end. It's the sort of tale you need to read multiple times to fully process. Well done.

Nooooooo...
I liked that mare and I liked the story.

Uh-oh. :O

I'm so glad this contest brought you out of an early retirement. :D This was marvelous.

That pun in the title though, oof.

This trope comes from many magical items from folklore especially both the magical pelt and the curse of were creature.

Ooh, this was beautiful.
But oh, no, poor Twilight 2.0!!

Definitely glad I stole a glance at this story.

ok, she's vain and stuff, yeah fatal flaw and all i get it, but she saved literal lives and that's outweighed by the modifying of a piece of clothing?? that "gift" doesn't really belong to her

Oh, most definitely. Capricious and unforgiving. But hey - crossing paths with what amounts to Fair Folk and being careless when offered their gifts can be more dangerous than it seems...
