Excellent work
That is a correct plan and assessment of how deep infiltration ops go and nice tactical formation although you should probably spread out a bit more as to not be easy targets
Question... Do i look on it wrong or do the Griffon on the story cover has rather feminine eyes?
Yep, you can forget "stealth" with any of them on spot!
crates
Get in, deliver a Dragoncandle, kill enemy Officers & get out in one piece eatch... Sounds simpel.
To bad no plan survives the contact with the enemy...
Than again... RD and mr Sniper have some very fine exceptions to the rule with them...
What's with that Chinook straddling that hill?

I assume this is training to teach pilots how to get the back of the helicopter on the ground to load and unload stuff on sloped terrain. You can't land properly on the side of a mountain after all, but the guys on the ground still need the stuff inside/need to be able to get inside.

I used to live under the low level flight path of Black Ooks heading to ground side training area.
Half a mile away, you could See them, but you couldnt Hear them.
The police and ambulance choppers over a mile away were louder.
Very good chapter, and i look forward to seeing more from ya man

It's called a ridge landing and, as sir budginton said, it's used to deploy onto places where the chinook can't properly land. It was the 4th sortie we flew.

They're still loud when you're sitting under one that's landing xD
My first time on a chinook I was QRF for a couple of British squads. We were staged in a field next to a road just barely wide enough for a couple of small trucks separating from a second field and a bank as high and steep as that birm in your pic. When they came to pick us up they decided that instead of landing in the second field they were going to land on the road itself and bathe everyone in dust and rotor wash. Anybody who didn't immediately brace themselves were thrown several feet from the force of it.
And they're not even the best heavy-lift chopper in the world. Russia has developed a helicopter that can carry CH-47 Chinooks & their variations with ease.
Search on Google the Mil Mi-26. This helicopter is powerful enough to pick up the Tupolev Tu-134, which is a small airplane! And in October of 1999, a Mi-26 was used to transport a 25-ton block of frozen soil encasing a preserved woolly mammoth from the Siberian tundra to a lab in Taymyr.
At least 15 countries use it, though most for military purposes; I think it was China that used it for civilian & military purposes. It is currently the largest operational helicopter in the world today, but there has existed a helicopter larger than it; and it too, was Russian. The Mil V-12. This helicopter's service life was very short though.
I can offer anyone interested a YouTube link for a video about the Mil Mi-26 or the Mil V-12.

Oh yeah, brown-out without having huddled sounds real fun

Big isn't always better, for small insertions a cougar or NH90 is better
Love chinooks. I could count on them to get critical parts and supplies in Afghanistan.

Agreed, bigger isn't always better. But even if we feel that way, Russia & the countries that use the 26'9" tall Mil Mi-26 certainly feel otherwise.

If you're talking large heavy lift Aircraft check out the MH-53E. I worked on them for 4 and 1/2 years. Plenty of power and loads of fuel to boot.

I know a little about them, but not much.
Great chapter hope to see more whenever
So begins the entry to hell. They'll have the advantage of experience, at least. And who better for a recon mission than a changeling?

Unless your political enemies are “everyone who lives in Gaul” or a particular city or some such, you can’t genocide them. You can murder them sure, but not genocide.
Also, just because it was far more common doesn’t mean it was more acceptable. Octavian did not win over many hearts when he put his political enemies on the government-sanctioned hit list, but vocally criticizing him over it would almost certainly get your name added to the list, so it didn’t bite him in the ass.
People are people. What separates us from the past is mostly technology, level of education, and what society deems important/how it’s structured.
Finally got caught up on the story. Pretty dar pan cool. Looking forward to reading more. Hope all is well with you.
Were you in the military author?
Tarterus start here for the squad, previously it was Tarterus in training wheels.
Fly or cry, the lacking ones will die.
