Why does this anthology have so few chapters in it?

It's a test run so kept it short in general. I wasn't sure people would like it, if people like it I plan on making a much longer season two. I also didn't want anyone to be too overwhelmed by the number of stories.

I thought that either he was murdering people and lying to her about it, or that he would bring her pony bits to get her to see the normal world again.
I'm quite sure why he's killing though. Is it part of the condition? It'd be one thing if he was just grave robbing, convinced they were roses.

Regardless, at least we know why his condition would be so feared.

Though, with the level of gore in the home...he snapped? Started switching his home with gore so that it would look normal?

Sort of she doesn't have the condition he does. He has snapped and does not see the gore. He really thinks they are roses and everything is fine. When he goes out to 'garden' or 'get supplies' he is actually killing but he doesn't realize it. He then uses those supplies to make his wife stuff but it isn't what he thinks it is. I hope I have clarified any confusion.

Well. Talk about a whole new level of obsession. She went from Yandere to full-blown psychopath.

Reminds me of Saya No Uta. Protag suffers brain damage that gives him a very, very extreme form of the "Caedes". Everything is a eldrtich meat monster, the world is pure super nightmare gore and even conversation is barley fesable with people...and the reverse is true. A room full of gore is precived in a abstract way, like a beautiful garden surrounded by hell itself in what he (and the reader) knows is his kitchen.
