This story is a sequel to Diplomat at Large
Third in the Diplomacy-verse, and a part of the greater "Powers-That-Be" multiverse. Twilight has returned home after nearly a year, and has a new mission in mind: the formation of a School of Friendship, in which creatures of every species can come to learn the values and methods of friendship, and about the cultures of the different races that make up their world.

Oh boy, that Moon Dancer confession must have felt out of nowhere for Twilight. Also, Twilight is going to open her school and bring in more creatures than her canon version. Someone should tell Celestia that if she sees Twilight as a daughter than Spike is her grandson which means that Celestia can be called grandma. Pinkie will be so excited when Twilight tells her about the parties that the Harpies throw. The real threat though remains which is Tirek who is currently escaped.
Wow, pretty big celebration at Twilight & Spike's return on this first chapter, it was awesome to see all of the different races attending for this event (including a certain orange dragon as well
)
Couple with the announcement of a double wedding & the creation of the Friendship School this 3rd entry in the series promises to be as hectic as the last one. Also finally Moondancer confessed her feelings to Twilight, wonder what her answer will be to that one?
Looking forward to see how the rest of this story unfolds!

Nothing in the description explains how this is an alternate universe with a different School of Friendship than in canon. You need a hook.
Glad we got to see Spike getting his gifts the next day plus Tempest getting her horn back, also seems like the Golden Oaks Library will have a few more occupants besides Twilight & Spike. At least the tree is alive & well in this alternate story although I'm still worried about *you know who* out there.
Seems the Twilight/Moondancer relationship will be a slow burn during the Friendship School creation, looking forward to see where it ends up plus the appearance of the Young Six during this installment.

Nice collection of stuff for Spike there, careful of his Greed Hoard? What is the air skimmer in basic design, apart from just a statement? Related to integrated lift bag zepplins or a cross between pegasus chariot and cargo cart but magical lift etc?
Dragons and Yaks missing out on a second world ending conflict coming up? Someyak might take offence?

Skimmers come in many varieties; most designs are based on the airspeeders or landspeeders from Star Wars. The aerial mass troop transports that were seen in the previous story are more like zeppelins though.

Wasn't expecting that trip to the Tree of Harmony, much less it had a connection with the Staff of Sacanas. Here's hoping we get to find out later about what effect it will have on the Tree now that it has that piece back!
Of course it wouldn't be Pinkie if she missed giving Moondancer a *welcome to Ponyville* party, not to mention Trixie & Moondancer now learning about Luna's dream-walking powers, hoping that last part doesn't come back to bite them in their collective flanks.
On the royal side, it was good seeing Celestia mentioning that other world to Twilight's parents. It's a good thing Starswirl's not around though cause he would have an angry mare to deal with regarding Spike's *form* in that other world!
Intresting bit with teh Staff, Is the Gem seperately created or a chip off something else also?

The staff's origins, as being partly made from a branch of the Tree of Harmony, are actually explained in a deleted scene from the movie. The gem's origins aren't given in either version, but it's plot-relevant and will be explained in-story eventually.

Wow, 2 awesome chapters in one day, sweetness!!!!
The racist jerk makes an appearance at last, unlike canon though both Twilight & Blueblood put him in his place. I just love how these two have grown so much during the previous story, they sure didn't let a pompous stallion like Neighsay walk all over them thinking himself above all others, talk about deluded!
Also kinda ironic that he ended up meeting *the one* I was most worried about, sucks to be him!
Looks like plans are been set in motion for both sides, can't wait to see what happens next!

No spoilers here - it's canon (in Tirek's "FIENDship Is Magic" comic, at least, and the series finale implies that it was the case in the cartoon too) that his family is acquainted with Discord, who was a member of King Vorak's council.
That he's able to avoid Discord's detection here is just one of those things that makes you wonder...

First off it seems Tirek's attack on Neighsay last chapter may have attracted some unwanted attention from the rulers of the nation, kinda goofed on that one centaur boy!
Second I totally enjoyed the preparations & the double wedding, the expansive explanation of The Powers was very informative plus we finally got to see what Luna had in mind by making Pharynx a fellow power, smart move!
Hmmm seems Glimmy will be making a appearance soon, can't wait to see how that goes!

It's a pretty good example of how Starlight is not equal to the others, no matter what she says, as she lives in the only house that stands out and is the only pony allowed to make decisions

Except some of them are Unicorns, some of them are Earth Ponies, some are Pegasi, some of the are male and some of them are female.
And how will you handle it when a foal eventually comes into the equation, will the parents be exempt from what they normally do or will they have to keep doing it, thus being unable feed and take care of the child probably.
And will you make the child do the "equal" amount of work everypony else is doing or will you give them less work thus making them unequal to others?

You know Starlight there is this groundbreaking new piece of technology called "Letters", now I know it's a pretty untested piece of tech but you should at least try it.
Also, since you and Sunburst hung out so much when you were younger, I'm sure your dad wouldn't have said no to going with you to visit him.
Now I will admit, Sunburst is also guilty of not trying to keep in contact via the awesome power of "writing letters"

Trust me, this is nothing compared to how I felt when the season 5 opener was her only appearance in canon. Her redemption mellowed me considerably, but I still remember the old feelings.

Glad to see Twilight & the rest of the cast nip this one in the flank quickly regarding Starlight's & her village, the addition of Spike going with them this time around plus Twilight's world tour sure helped to point out Starlight's flawed cult logic.
Also looks like the new Lord of Nightmares is starting to turn things around with his new title, not bad Pharynx!
Lastly seems like Neighsay's starting to become a true leader with this humble pie he was forced to eat due to Tirek & his minions, here's hoping he can turn things around when the time comes!

Already quite a few things happening in this chapter alone! Twilight having her mother dealing with Sunburst by her reading him the riot act, the Young Six finally meeting each other before classes started & the failed attempt at Neighsay's escape and the lost of his horn, ouch!
. At least he wasn't a complete piece of slime in front of Tirek so he gets some points for that. 
Can't wait to see what comes up next chapter, till the next one!
If bulk iron blocks magic use, then wouldnt that make bodkin head long bow arrows totally illegal due to their totally OP behaviour against armoured unicorns?

Gotta admit, this was a pretty mellow chapter after the way the previous one left us in. It was good to see the gang reuniting & having a good time before the official opening of Twilight's Friendship School next chapter, here's hoping that goes without major issues & that we get to see some Young Six antics in it as well!
Also it seems Flurry will have a playmate by what Luna/Pharynx said at the end there, that should be a treat!

Looks at Season 9. Yeah, Celestia would never do that no sir. Though if I recall Faust wanted WTilight to be Celestia's successor. Also, Flurry will have a playmate though I do wonder how a Pony/Changeling hybrid will look like.
