A story like this, yet you have the main seven tagged from EqG, spent the whole thing waiting for Sunset to pop up.

Woops, sorry, my bad. It was a miscliick and I didn't notice.

I...don't understand. The Master of Lies, as the name implies, makes people liars. So...why'd everyone start telling the truth?

10164308
You did read the whole story right?

Ri2

And it still makes no sense. He forced everyone to be honest so they’d appreciate lies?

10164434
Exactly.

Like when Scarecrow created a toxin that REMOVED all sense of fear. (No fear of dying, no fear of killing, no fear of hurting you friends...)

And when Scarecrow did that, there were lots of deaths and chaos. So why did the removal of lying turn out for the better one hundred percent here? Where were the hurt feelings and broken hearts? The admissions of deceit and anger at lies that have been going on for years? Where were the people telling everyone how they REALLY feel about them, how they've never liked them, how they've been stringing them along, or just telling them all the things they've secretly hated?

Because someone already wrote that story where every single lie was positive things and the message seemed to be that Ponyville was built on lies and they should be grateful for them. Rarity in this story lampshade this by pointing out that this would have worked a LOT BETTER in Canterlot among the elite whom lying is expected and is part of the machinery.

Really? I've never heard of that story.

And I'm not saying every lie is positive. Of course not. Some are, though.

I asked the author. And I quote,
"There's also the fact that Ponyville is a rather close nit community were they generally know one another well.
It failed in large part due to him not underestimating people being UNDERSTANDING of the truth due to caring for each other ."

Please do not respond. I am recovering from an arm injury and I don't want to start acting out without thinking about it and accidentally strain it.

Great story. I love the twist about truth not being that bad.

“Wow, you sound more like a rage quitting kid than an ancient evil baddy,” Button Mash honestly pointed out, having seen plenty in his time as a gamer.

I think a lot of villains can be described in these terms.

I demand a redemption arc! ... Oh, well, that wasn't what I meant to say.
