This could've done with some refinement. A lot of it felt like an exposition dump, like it just skimmed over some parts of the story I'd have really liked to see more of. On paper, I like a lot of what's here, but its presentation could've been a lot more engaging.
Still, for a first story this isn't bad! Definitely hoping you keep writing
