Nothing can stay the same forever. Scootaloo always knew that her days with her perfect little friendships in Ponyville was numbered. Scooters break, friends move away, but some injuries run too deep to fix. No number of stretches, no mystery cures, nothing can give her the flight that other pegasai take for granted.

Then comes Nightmare Night, and some dangerous advice. There's somewhere Scootaloo can go, somewhere where any flaw can be overcome. Assuming she's willing to pay the price.

At this point, Scootaloo will give up anything.

Great to see this on Fimfic, to say nothing of the greater context at the start. I do love a good mystical Pinkie Pie, especially one who knows when to provide drinks that make you less drunk. If you ever do follow Scootaloo and Emily as they move through the holes chewed through existence, I'd happily read about their continuing adventures. Thank you for this.

Where can I find the other fics to this contest?

This is crazy, in a good way! I'd love to see what adventures these two get into!

This is pretty good so far. Will this be a short story or a long one?

Humans don't have wings, so shouldn't this be Anthro instead?

Well she's found something, that's for sure. It'll probably work out aright, so far as mysterious bartenders go Pinkie is a pretty safe choice.

Ah, they're stuck in the nevernever. Strange that it looks like a building interior, but I suppose there's far worse permutations they could have stumbled across. If I had to make a guess I'd say that they've until sunrise to find the passage back, that's how these things usually work.

Well, Irkalla is the Mesopotamian underworld...

:pinkiegasp: Scootaloo dieded!

Let me inform you I enjoyed it all the way through, and I'm terribly upset it's marked "Complete".

Congrats on the win, by the way.

I had the same thought too.

I think that this ends too abruptly. It seems like there’s going to be a climax...

“It’s the immune system. And we’re the disease.”

...And then it just ends. What? I’m left with unanswered questions.

So the story is over. Meaning Pinkie purposefully just sent Scoots to die. Hmmmmm.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, I do wish for more though.

Anthro wouldn't be correct either

Scootaloo is a human with wings. Not an anthro pony. It's the same reason angels aren't anthros.

Anthropomorphism has many meanings in our culture. While a human with wings is not necessarily a pony anthro, the term can refer to many things.

Though in most cases, including this one, I would generally agree with you, some interpretations of the word includes any entity with both human and animal characteristics. (So yeah, in that version, angels would be anthro. So would catgirls.)

In the original sense, though, it simply is an animal with human characteristics, whether mental or physical. Ponies as represented in the show have been anthropomorphized. The original definition is not usually the one people use, so the whole thing is just... fuzzy.

That was great : ). What is the name of this crossover? I've not heard of it before... Or is this you own invention?

And you were training to be a weatherman you said? That sounds even cuter. Cloudy with a chance of horses today, with a cold front moving up the Wasatch…

Heh.
Chance of horses.. Good one.

A terrible noise echoed out from within, making Scootaloo wince with pain. Her ears would’ve folded down, if they could still do that. “Why is it so loud?”
Emily froze in place, seeming equally horrified. She spun slowly around, her eyes so wide they were almost black. “There shouldn’t have been enough power for that,” she whispered. “In a place this old… it shouldn’t work.”

Maybe she should have used a more subtle spell...

Emily winced, as something exploded through a house behind them. A little like a worm, with rows of interlocking teeth that glittered in the darkness. Teeth wide enough to swallow them both without hesitation.

A security mechanism which destroys it's own town?
May be effective at discouraging intruders, but still...

And now the big question: Was it worth it?

Amazing! Only flaw is that it's not longer!:pinkiehappy:
