Tron and Tron Legacy were both good; naturally the time span made Legacy's effects better so I don't judge based on that at all; story is the key, and i think the original was better.

But if anyone out there is a FPS fan and a Tron fan, then get Tron 2.0 NOW. It is the best game I've ever played, has the best storyline I have seen in any game i've played so far (one of the closest is Aliens versus Predator 2), and it has unique weapons for once, that's always a plus.

Given that all I know of the Tron series is from Kingdom Hearts (both II and 3D), I honestly wouldn't be surprised at this point to see Riku showing up to teach Dash Flowmotion attacks. Which would be awesome, but jargon aside, it seems to me that the heat that got everyone excited in the first chapter was replaced with a wave of exposition. This would have been alright if it seemed more for Dash's sake than the sake of the readers. Though the cliffhanger at the end was nice, I would have preferred if you had ended with Dash's first glimpse of the datascape, but that's really just a 'what I would do' complaint. In the end, it's not as good as the first chapter, but since the first chapter was excellent and would be hard to top by anyone's standards, I'm willing to let that slide.

In the meantime, write more, and if you haven't already submitted to Equestria Daily, I suggest you doing just that. Those of us who hide our craft and don't do our best to show it to others are doing the world a great disservice, especially when your work deserves to be showcased. For your first fic, it's turning out nicely, and Lord knows you need encouragement to actually write the next freaking chapter.

I don't usually read crossovers, but it's tron, so it's cool.

At some point, Dash has to do a Reality Shift. Damn, the light cycles in Kingdom Hearts were hard. And I'm probably never going to stop seeing those parallels.

The description is your strong point, but don't neglect the 'tension,' so to speak, in your world. The whole chapter seemed to rush by too fast for me to get a really good handle on it, and though I suppose that could just be a flaw in the way I read, I would advocate paying close attention to the pacing of your piece.

I fell in love with this all over again.

This story isn't just "Let's take Tron: Legacy, replace Sam with Rainbow Dash and Flynn with Celestia, throw in some other ponies, and re-write it". You've also got Twi and Luna on the outside trying to figure out what the buck is going on. You've still got me guessing on who will be Zeus (Vinyl Scratch, duh), Cracken (I thought Big Mac at first, but then I noticed it said gaurdmare. Applejack?), and Quorra (I want to say Twilight, but I`m not entirely sure).

And as for the ending, I think we can all agree that this is highly relevant.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this story right now. It's been rattling around in my mind on and off since I joined the fandom nearly two years ago, and in the last week it's really started to click, to come together. It's taking a lot of self-control to not just tell everyone the cool parts that are coming up.

Fanged Dash was just a bit of fun for Halloween, I'm afraid, so I could change my avatar, but if you ignore the fangs, it's a pretty good look for what Dash met at the end of this chapter.

It certainly made me wonder things that those who watched the movie already know at the start like: are all the people Dash met just programs? What are their relations to the real ponies (e.g. Jewel with Rarity); why are these people playing what looks like a very dangerous-type match, among other stuff and while it confuses me at first (like most stories when they are just starting), eventually you'll get to explain them as the story progresses. You will, right?

In regards to Tron: Legacy, the next chapter or two should clear things up for you. The duplicate Dash will most likely say some things that, in the movie, were explained through a prologue and what CLU tells Sam (evil Dash is CLU, and good ol' Rainbow is Sam Flynn). People who've seen the movie can easily predict the possible fate of some characters, which is why I'm hoping RBDash will throw a wrench in the works and surprise us.

Can't say much more without implying accidental spoilers. I consider it lucky that you haven't seen either movie; more suspenseful and interesting.

I think it's safe to say PONY Legacy is heavily inspired by TRON Legacy, but it's definitely not a direct one-to-one correlation. It's also inspired by quite a bit of other science fiction... I'll probably have an authors notes at the end talking about it. Anyway, many characters' fates end up similarly to the movie, but for completely different reasons... and of course, others experience different fates altogether.

Interesting so far mate. Curious if Celes made a program mirroring herself as ruler and key programs as purely loyal to her or not... which makes me think I'm confusing myself. Would she have loyalty to Celes or loyalty to the program if that was the case? Or if she isn't a perfect copy, would the program serve itself over an external source?

If i could give a (totally subjective and personal) suggestion, then here it would be:

ISOs be the OCs.

It freaking fits - non-canon, sentient beings that appeared on their own. Think of all the possibilities!

That's a pretty interesting idea, enough that I hope some other TRON crossover writer spots it and snaps it up; it has the potential to make the fic a lot more meta, too, if it starts including well-known members of the community. But - spoiler alert - there are no ISOs in my story. I hated the idea of ISOs in TRON Legacy - it smacked of lazy writing, making these supposedly godlike beings manifest out of nothing and then having Jeff Bridges claim they're going to magically change the world and so therefore we should totally care about them, like for reals. "Did you create them?" "HA! No, they manifested, like a flame, they weren't from anywhere." Excuse me, but none of what you just said makes any sense. Now, the ISOs do fill a need in the narrative framework (giving Clu/RBD a reason to go into tryant mode), and therefore I do have a roughly equivalent plot device, as it were, to fill that need... but it ain't ISOs, it's something that's hopefully a lot more believable within the existing framework. So, assuming you've been following along, you should recognize that next chapter we get to meet Flynn/Celestia and get some of that explanatory backstory, so we'll learn more then.

My mind is going in 50 different directions, and this chapter made everything 20% cooler! (Please, let me know if that's been overused.)

My first impression of RBD was: "She is the Destroyer of Programs! Bow down to her!!!!!!" That and: "YYYYEEEESSSSSSSSSS! THIS is how an epic OC is made!"

I love the direction that you're going in so far and am BEGGING you to update ASAP!

Forgot to mention: as a TRON fan, Legacy was a HUGE letdown for me. Sam was overpowered and was too typical "Good-guy-will-restore-order" kind of guy. The new lightcycle games were WAY to intricate for a classic LC fan. (I loved the original so much that I downloaded the game for PC and played it for 6 HOURS STRAIGHT!)

The only part I enjoyed was the end. By this, I mean when Sam takes the chip and puts it around his neck. That instantly made me think "SEQUEL!" and then I thought "Oh, ****, If they managed to botch this up, they're going to do the same with the next."

Hmn, now I'm wondering if we're going to get an extra real world Twilight by the end of this.

OH NO! If Shy is Jarvis then that means.....

I thought Legacy was pretty good, but now I want to watch the other TRON movies. If I can find them.

But I digress. The adaptation of lightbikes into light ribbon jetpacks is pretty sweet, well done.

It's one of those classical hero never kills things, except the entire enviroment is stacked to have near zero regard for "life" and the contorsion they twist the story into the avoid Tron actually "killing"/derezing anything is amazing.

Continuity wise it doesn't fit either, and is one of those eternal saturday enviroments where utterly nothing changes without the designated protagonist's triggering it or stopping any changes to the status quo

I bet RBD's ID number is 47. As in, the 47th pony to be created. Or something. Make it happen.

But that's what I thought until I read Typhoon Blast34's comment, where he states that he thinks Pinkie Pie will be Zeus. When you think about it, it would make a lot more sense because then you can actually have the entire Mane 6 cast in the story, and she is rather suiting for the character, but I hope you at least hint at Vinyl Scratch being a DJ in the penthouse (i.o.w. state that the DJ has a spiky blue mane, white coat, and violet-tinted glasses). If this happens, I will flip st.
