I really like the cover art, is the artist a friend of yours? I can't draw worth beans, but I really wish I could get a piece like that for one of my stories

Anyway, I really like the shorter stories. Writing something in few words really makes you consider each word you put on the page. I think you did an excellent job, you have nothing to apologize for.

This should have gotten featured too. I am really hating the Featured Box, honestly. This isn't a gut-wrenching awful sadness, but a realistic painful tragedy summed without going all My Little Dashie. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

I see you are getting better as an author. Anyway, here is my advice. First, you put have put a bit more time at developing the relationship between the parents and Applejack, right now all you have is the picnic. Then the end would have more impact. This is more minor, but secondly, I find the idea of two ponies being killed by a carriage that isn't motor propelled to be somewhat incredulous. I don't even think it's even easy for a car to kill two ponies as the first pony should damage the car pretty bad and slow it down quite a bit.
