Twilight Sparkle and Spike are celebrating their first ever Hearth’s Warming in Ponyville. It’s still a working process for Twilight to get use to friendship in a village but Spike on the other hand doesn’t mind at all especially his encounters with other ponies.
Fluttershy out of all the ponies wanted to know Spike since he’s a talking dragon in all. She asked Twilight to take care of Spike on Hearth’s Warming Eve to which Twilight accepted. Spike didn’t understood why but he didn’t have plans whatsoever. When Fluttershy takes him to her place, she not only gives him the support she has towards animals, but also her sweet personal feelings towards him.

I actually think it's the animal thing
I see no other downsides to this besides that. I'm still reading Days Passed and readers are more eager than ever to read more now that the writer has hit a caffeineated writing steak.
There are plenty of flutterspike stories that had good rating that are as cute as this.
I'm just trying to figure out one thing. Does Fluttershy have a crush on him? Or am I overthinking this?

I’ll be honest- this was one of the first (if at all) stories I’ve read that focused mainly on Fluttershy and Spike’s relationship.
I don’t really like the fact that Spike is referred to as an animal. In mlp, dragons are a species of creatures, like ponies. They don’t need to be taken care of as much either.
I’m also not sure about Spike’s feelings for Fluttershy in this fimfic. This Fimfic definitely has potential to expand but I don’t feel like it’s entirely completed.
So, to be clear; Fluttershy’s calling Twilight out for conditional love while she’s also saying she’d support Spike because he was a baby dragon. What if Spike grows up? Does this mean she’ll stop loving him when he’s in the 5th grade?
