Sunset Shimmer loves Trixie; she's just busy right now. Everything will be fine.

This story was both sad and awesome! I love how you wrote it.

That was really, really disheartening, I was like "God damn it pay attention to Trixie, Sunset!" all those times when Sunset chose friends over her girlfriend. Who does that?

This ends with enough of a hope spot to smooth things out for Sunset, no matter what choices she makes, I think. A lot of emotion and realism packed into a small but satisfying story. Hopefully I’ll see more from you soon!

I just realized Sci-Twi's not in this story. :O How come?

I really don't blame her.

Excellent moral. This is what I want to see in my shipfics. :)

She is! From Chapter 2:

She could hear Rainbow Dash saying something to Twilight a couple rows up, and, judging by their tones, it was probably Rainbow Dash begging her for help with some assignment. She shook her head and chuckled. She didn't really get what they saw in each other, and she especially couldn't get how Twilight hadn't gone full Midnight on Dash yet, but she saw how happy they were together, and that was what really mattered to her.

Dash glanced back at Twilight, who nervously rubbed her geode before responding, “Look, Sunset, we can’t keep doing shows like this. You’ve broken all of our trust and you need to earn it back.”

Oh, shoot. :O Well, I guess she just didn't speak up as much as the others.

Nice opening.
Short but makes me feel bad for Trixie (which isn't easy!) but here it seems like Sunset is being awfully cold all considered.
The last line was good. Crunch those leaves!

This was sweetly domestic, a nice little glimpse of their day to day (more or less).
Was wondering what it'd be like to see from Sunset's perspective since she wasn't exactly charming in the first chapter. Looks like that might just be her characterization here... already feeling the buildup to the breakup, subtle though it is so far.

There's a lot going on in this fic, surprisingly. I didn't expect the pyro magic (and honestly it didn't work for me, but it was fun extra subplot problem).
This was hard to read, like a very slow train wreck. Especially since Sunset is so unlikeable through this, even while she's still kept sympathetic. It feels like watching you care about make a mess of their life, and powerless to stop it.
No surprise that Trixie broke up with her at text, I was more surprised that Sunset thought she had any right to demand otherwise, considering she wouldn't let a word in.
Trixie was far more sympathetic here, and finally having the breakup moment was a relief in an otherwise kinda painful story, sad to say.
(still got a thumbs up though)

Right, meant to leave a comment here!
I'm glad you had this last chapter to add a bit of a bright spot and hope to this story, and does a nice job rounding it all up

You’d think I’d have written back a bit sooner after I messed things up already by not talking about things, but I guess learning and acting on that knowledge are two different things.

This line hit especially close to home, and kinda made the whole story real to me, in a certain sense. Knowing you're messing up but not actually taking steps to fix it or get better. Here at least, it feels like a first step to become a better person.

She buried her face in that hair that, no matter how long it had been since she had done a show, always smelled like a mixture of gunpowder and flowers.

Sunset tried changing the Rainbooms’ name to “Guns and Roses,” in honor of her girlfriend, and was upset to discover why she couldn’t.

can i ask you a question?

Easy for me since I can understand trix. Though I prefer pony Trixie over human for that exact reason.

Such a shame it had to end. But it's not like you can be blind to the problem

"What do you guys mean it's taken??"
"Yeah, since like, the 80's"
"Wait, really?"
"Yeah. Like they're one of my favorite rock bands too"
"Damn it!"

Oh...oh no.
This is were it goes terrible huh?

Annnnddddd there it is.
