After a band of thieves collectively known as Payback infiltrates the Grand Galloping Gala and robs Prince Blueblood, the Mane Six look into them so they might help bring them to justice.
But through their research, they find that the situation is not so simple. They find that Payback has never once targeted an innocent pony. Everypony they've stolen from had skeletons in their closets next to their piles of dirty money that they stepped on many ponies to get. Going off this pattern of behavior, it would seem that this band of thieves have noble intentions despite their objectively criminal activity. What stands out to them the most though is the center of the entire operation; Payback's leader, Slinky Sly...
Who shockingly looks nearly identical to Pinkie.
Violence tag for various fight that will likely get pretty brutal later on and Sex tag is for Slinky just being herself

Although a lot of inspiration for this did come from similar stories of thieves stealing from criminals or douchey rich people like Robin Hood and Sly Cooper (the latter mostly inspiring the team dynamic between Slinky, Fluffy and Jade; the stealth, the muscle and brains)

Actually want to nip this in the bud now, Slinky isn't a clone. She looks like Pinkie out of sheer coincidence the same way Moondancer looks like Twilight and Daring Do looks like Rainbow, just with more....overt similarities.
Its part of the reason the first chapters here showing she had a childhood and was around long before Pinkie ever got to the Mirror Pool

Considering they're clearly attracted to each other and incest is not something I'm willing to touch with a 100ft pole, I have to debunk that theory as well.
See my creation of Slinky had a lot of different inspirations; characters like Robin Hood, Sly Cooper, Catwoman, Rouge the Bat, etc. but the idea for her looking scarily similar to an already-established character stemmed from the movie Muppets Most Wanted that had an evil criminal frog puppet that by some insane comedic coincidence, looked exactly like Kermit as the antagonist. I guess if one wanted a literary example that's played more straight rather than for laughs you could look at The Prince and the Pauper where two boys who were completely unrelated looked uncannily similar to each other while having drastically different upbringings and lifestyles. The "How" for cases like that happening in media like this was never really important to the larger story. Same deal here, and I guess I could have done a better job explaining that in-story. Really the main reason I chose this idea and for it specifically to be Pinkie was really just "What if Pinkie, but like, not a nice girl and sassier" sounded funny to me
As for her use of cartoon physics similar to Pinkie as seen with her use of the hammerspace, we already kind of saw in FIM that abilities like that weren't strictly exclusive to just her as seen with some of the junk Cheese Sandwich was able to do

Loving this read! A real cunning start to a story of high theft and a sense of giving the dues to the people who break others down.
Nice story so far. I haven’t seen many Pinkie prominent stories, and the OCs you’ve introduced are pretty interesting too. Plus the whole “shades of gray” thing will be interesting for the Elements to deal with. I know it’s been a while since this story was updated, but I look forward to seeing how it goes, whenever the next part comes.

It's not that she isn't grateful, it's more like she wants to know why she helped her since from the outside looking in Slinky's very strange. Like she acknowledges here:
She acknowledges that Slinky's very likely more than her criminal record but just has a lot of questions about her whole agenda. Same goes for how Pinkie feels about the situation, but Pinkie's really in her own head about it right now because she just realized she also likes mares and the mare that was her awakening's alignment isn't immediately clear.
