The Crusaders have been joined at their collective hips for years. There have been bumps along the way but this is one childhood friendship that makes it all the way to adulthood with no end in sight. Nothing and nopony could ever tear them apart.
Except, perhaps, for each other. The Crusaders have grown up and with maturity comes changes both inside and out. When the youngest of the trio finally crosses the finish line into legal adulthood, those changes start to come to light. It turns out that they may not know one another quite as well as they thought. The Crusaders have stuck together through thick and thin but shared affection might be a bigger challenge than any shared adversity they've ever faced.
Why does life have to be so ironic?
A story written to challenge myself into covering topics I normally never touch. Tagged for (very) humanoid anthropomorphism, implications, innuendo, off-screen self-help, first base, and flirting with the line of second. Contains content that some may find offensive or unpleasant such as: a tiny amount of alcohol, body image issues, homosexuality, and polyamory.

Part of me is surprised there aren't that many out there given how eager the shipping communities on the internet can be. Then again, polyamory isn't particularly common in general, one male/multiple female relationships aside. Those are a dime a dozen. I hope this one was a worthy entry in the niche, at least.

Thanks for reading it! I'm really glad that the characterizations worked, especially since I was trying to imagine how they'd behave years down the line. I was really hoping they'd still feel like the same characters, just older and dealing with very different feelings. When it came to the drama, I just tried to follow my gut on how they react to problems: Scootaloo runs from them, Sweetie Belle lashes out at them, Apple Bloom stews until she boils over.
I absolutely adore this story, so well written and I've been looking for a CMC poly story for ages. This was perfect for what I was looking for.

I'm the exact same I hate people when they leave a story incomplete and never finish what they started. I always finish each story I start, I hate the Idea that someone is enjoying a story and is left feeling incomplete never having an outcome of something they enjoyed. Also yeah never say never, you ever want to limit your self. Although I don't write horror just because it's not my kind of thing.

I won't say never, I mean, I've got lots of a sequel drafted. But I can't promise anything. My main problem is working out what the ending of it should be so that I know what I'm working towards. If I can work that out, the rest will fall into place, I think.

I really like this story. I think scootaloo may have been my favorite character though I think the way she was utilized and done in the story made a lot of sense to me, loved it.
I wish more people did the love triangle stories with the CMCs. I always thought if there was going to be a polyamorous relationship that was going to be done a lot it would be the CMCs.

I came back to this story still makes me feel the exact same way that I left it on. I just want more, this story is responsible for me liking the idea of all the CMC dating. I still think this story has a lot of potential whatever that would be a serious story about all the families having to accept this dating situation. or just a normal Little slice of Life.
