Fluttershy calmly sat at the table in Garrusâ apartment as the turian vented his troubles from work. They had returned to the Citadel over a year ago and Garrus had immediately joined back up with C-Sec. Fluttershy looked into joining but ended up deciding against it. She much preferred helping the victims of the battle with counseling and emergency aid while she was in school to become a doctor.
Initially everything had been going smooth for the turian. The regulations that had previously been holding him back were not being enforced in favour of returning law and order to the Citadel. But as that very order came back to the station, the regulations came back as well, making it so that to arrest a criminal Garrus had to slog through a pile of bureaucratic paperwork.
ââŚHe literally had the red sand on him, and they told me that wasnât proof enough! The only thing he had to do was say he found it and was bringing it in!â
âAnd youâre sure that he wasnât telling the truth?â Fluttershy asked, though judging from earlier complaints the turian had made his claim probably wasnât that far from the truth.
âRed sand is an expensive and highly addictive substance to humans. You donât just âfindâ something like that abandoned in an alleyway,â Garrus growled while taking a seat on the other side of the table to Fluttershy. âIâm just so tired of criminals getting away with crimes, and if the state of C-Sec before the attack is what theyâre going for, then itâs only going to get worse!â
Garrus slammed his fist on the table in anger. Fluttershy didnât even flinch at the move as she simply took a sip from the mug of tea in her hooves. âAnd youâre thinking of doing something about it?â
Garrusâ anger immediately subsided, and he grimaced. âYes thereâs something Iâm thinking about doing, but thatâs not something I want to involve you in. Itâs not exactly the safest of plans.â
Narrowing her eyes slightly Fluttershy sternly looked at the turian. âGarrus, you know that I can handle myself. We practice our shooting at least twice a week and my biotics are slowly getting back to the place where they used to be. I might not be actively fighting gangs, but that doesnât mean Iâm helpless.â
Though it was true Fluttershy could handle herself in most situations, saying her biotic potential was coming back slowly was an understatement. Even after a year it had only increased to a point where she could use it as any biotic would, not rip entire geth apart with just her mind as she had done before.
âI know, I know, but I donât want to put you in extreme danger,â Garrus sighed. âThere is a space station in the Terminus systems that doesnât fall under any government's jurisdiction, and itâs filled with criminals. All the major crime syndicates have large parts of their operations going on there, everything from slave trade to the creation of narcotics. Almost every severe criminal operation weâve stopped in the last year was either directly or indirectly supported by the elements on that station.â
âThat still doesnât tell me what youâre planning to do,â Fluttershy pointed out, even though she could be pretty certain of what Garrus wanted to do. He wasnât someone whoâd just sit still and watch if he perceived an injustice being done.
âI want to cut these things off at the source. C-Sec is only fighting the symptoms of the real problems, and the Council doesnât want to take risks.â Garrus, while simultaneously working at C-Sec, had also re-applied for Spectre training, but the Council had denied his request to join the organization. They had already denied Shepardâs claims on the Reapers and didnât want to take the chance of having a new Spectre bring it up.
âSo you were just going to go to that place without telling me?â Fluttershy suddenly felt herself become very angry at her boyfriend.
âWell, I-â
âAnd just leave me here, alone on the Citadel?!â Fluttershy shouted at Garrus who flinched back. âDo I mean that little to you?!â
âOf course not! I mean you donât, IâŚâ Garrus tried defending himself, but Fluttershy was too angry to listen any longer and jumped off her chair, grabbed a bag, and stormed out of the apartment.
Spreading her wings Fluttershy took to the air, careful not to fly too high and leave the thin layer of air that covered the âopen airâ areas of the Citadel.
Does he really think that little of me? That he just wanted to leave at the last moment without me?
Fluttershy pushed her wings a bit further in an attempt to clear her mind. The physical therapy sessions sheâd done had strengthened her wings considerably and given her some new insight on training.
Back when Rainbow was put in charge of creating the tornado that was meant to bring water to Cloudsdale sheâd gone out of her way to improve her wingpower but only managed to get a fraction of what the other pegasi could do. But after telling the story to the therapists on the Citadel, the only thing they really were was impressed. They explained that the final amount of wingpower sheâd managed to gain was almost five times higher than the one sheâd started with. An improvement like that was an amazing feat not to be scoffed at.
With that as motivation Fluttershy had continued training and improving her performance. She guessed that even though she was most definitely not at Dashâs level of flying, sheâd be able to out-fly most pegasi.
Thinking of Dash brought tears to her eyes again as she slowed down her flight to land. Yes, she really missed all of her friends, but Rainbow had been her first and best friend. Not seeing her for over a year had been really hard for the yellow pegasus.
Come on Fluttershy what would Dash do? âŚSheâd probably stick with Garrus whatever the situation might be. Iâm sure he just wanted to protect me from what he wants to do, not abandon me. Itâs not like I can really blend into crowds after all.
Fluttershy had the final thought as she saw the various aliens around her looking strangely at her.
Iâm pretty sure that weâre going to need to figure out a way for me to be less noticeable if Iâm going to go with him⌠Maybe Kasumi can give me some tips on blending in. It is her job after all?
1. Iâm not leaving Garrus. Weâll figure something out.
2. [Call in a favour with Kasumi.]
3. I canât go along. Itâll only end in bloodshed.'
Another good chapter thank you, so here have some more energy. đI like how well you are writing the interactions between Fluttershy and Garrus, I look forward to seeing more of it.
A Stealth-shy should be very cool with her power set, flight and a sniper rifle...
I can't wait till see what the rest of the main six think about this new Fluttershy and I am a little scared thinking what the Reapers would turn each of the pony tribes in to... what would one of the Princesses be like transformed by the Reapers...
If Fluttershy has been Nerfed back down to human average, then have to go human. Get Kasumi, get MDK Owl geared.
Show them that the best support for a Spectre, is a Ghost.
Lets see, how can Twilight, Sunset, Starlight abuse Starswirls Time Travel spell.
Cast on a Reapers weapon emmiter, and the target is the Reapers Engines. Get the time back just right, and its a Justice field? Best thing is, the shorter the time back, the far easier to cast and less power needed. Speed of light back is microseconds, so lot easier. That and Glimmer Im sure can make temporal paradox loops, making any Reaper that fires on Equestria, erases itself from existance. Sunset shouldnt have let her watch that movie.
For those who know how things go....
So is she more....or less powerful than she was before that mess with the crime boss I still she made into a pet?
Lord, wonât her friends be in for a surprise at this Flutters.
So, we skipped over a year it seems... interesting.
This is a pretty cool take on the story because in the cannon, we never really got to see how Garrus ended up on Omega in the first place; bits and pieces at most.
Assuming Flutters ends up going with him, Iâm definitely looking foreword to see how itâs going to change Shepardâs original reunion with our favorite turian! Keep it coming!
I had to go with a favor from Kasumi because she can always teach Fluttershy how to do stealth concealment and hacking and while she's on the station she could just go into hiding and help garrus from the shadows. But she has to remember a cardboard box in case shes still spotted.
I go with option 1.
So essentially, it's small scale (really small scale, like a pencil or less. Without training, which is most biotics, or an amp, the previous statement applies, biotics are almost completely useless. So unless you're forgetting this fact, Shy has made almost no progress.) levitation. Not even levitation, I think the codex just said telekinesis. Unless there's something I'm missing in the expanded lore (outside the games).
I don't think one favor is going to take the whole bank. And she can't not go, especially not for that reason. If she was listening at all, she would realize that there already is bloodshed over there.
I am going for option 2 for multiple reason:
1) Stealth is invaluable for Fluttershy, she is unique in the ME universe, no other alien is even close in body type. Any form of stealth mission has to either bench her or keep her out of EVERYONEs eyes to work. And Kasumi is the best in the job, no questions asked.
2) The favor Kasumi owes her its not born from a deal or pride, it is born from Kasumi guilt. It is not something that gets used easily and it is also not something that can be just left to rot. Shy needs to have little, simple, interactions with her so Kasumi goes from feeling that she HAS to risk her life for Shy to WANTING to do so.
Also, Kasumi is a fluffy adorable girl, she would already be all into having an adorable apprentice. No point in missing the chance.

She started out as an exceptionally powerful biotic. Her injuries made her completely unable to use biotics (or at least it would hurt a whole lot if she tried). The paragraph is saying that now she's recovered to average. If you're saying the average biotic can barely levitate a pencil(?), I'm not sure that's the intended meaning. Perhaps "average biotic mercenary" would be more accurate?

I was talking about all or almost all of the biotics who are non-military or at the very least untrained.
Possibly not including asari. Not entirely sure about their natural level of power.
I have to imagine that there are far more biotics who aren't in the military than those who are, at least in an interstellar group. Might have been wrong about how weak. It might be a little bit stronger for adult non-military. A little bit.
I hope that fluttershy gets back home to equestria without changing who she became during the adventure
