The story's ok but If you establish characters that not part of the MLP universe, you have tell who they, describe what they look like otherwise the audience is confused. Who's Shadow Dragon we don't know and than Lance came out of nowhere. When writing try to think it from the audience perspective, most of time the audience goes into a story blind so you as the author has to keep that in mind.
