It is explained in the original story. When Kerra came to Earth through the Gate years before the SGC was stood up, she was trained and eventually augmented as a super soldier. She has the same kind of augmentations as the SPARTAN-IIs of the Halo verse. She even has her own version of the MJOLNIR Mk 6 Powered Assault Armor.
