Godslittleprincess

I think Twilight's best pony because I relate to her the best.

Sequels2

E

This story is a sequel to Spice

Losing a parent to cancer is never easy. It's even harder when you're losing the only parent you have who still cares about you. For Flash Sentry, it was reality that he didn't even want to face, and eventually, he reaches a point where he can no longer run from it. Fortunately, a certain pretty, purple, bespectacled magical girl ends up reaching out to him in his time of need. This is their story.

Written for FlashLight Week 2018.

Not necessarily a romance but may contain romantic elements and a whole lot of ship.

An interesting start.
A couple of, well in the grander scheme, nitpicks
1) Yeah asking for $25 or even saying you'll go as low as $17 an hour as a couple of High school students, not likely, you're looking at minimum wage, maybe a flat $15/her because that's the average for a good quality babysitter, but hey if Velvet thinks you're labor is worth more that $25/hr, that's her call
2) I think that Flash and First should've been to escorted to a specific bathroom, the one Night Light uses as does Shining when he's there, let's just keep to men and women have different wants and needs

However, with that said... Man even among us Flash-fans, the guy just doesn't seem to catch a break.
I wasn't expecting Flash and Twilight to be as familiar with each, not that I object to them being friends, but I have always been drawn to stories in which two very different people discover that they aren't so different (Disney's 1990's animated Beauty and the Beast) but given the rest of the premise, I see why.
So what's the next job? :ajsleepy:

Umm, Foxhelm, Flash charged Velvet $17/hr. Furthermore, a big enough house has a bathroom or a half-bathroom just for guests.

8975278
i must have missed when they agreed to the amount, or if Flash editted the ad, fair enough, but I don't recall that it was specified to be the guest bathroom but again those two critics I have are fundamentally nitpicks

“$17 then, but that’s the lowest I’m going to go.” Flash typed in the two digits and posted the advertisement. “Now, we wait.”

Nice to have this moment between Flash and his mother...
Why do I expect the worse...

Geez... this guy just can't catch a break.

And this is coming from a guy that 'killed off' Sci-Twi in his own work, (cough, cough, no I didn't but you'll have to wait and see.)

Sorry... teehee...

Hi!
Ok, I readed your story today and I really wish make for you a big comment, but I'm still busy because week take time and own projects too D':

But, I'm so glad, I can't stop myself, I readed your fanfic and you know? It's amazing, I love all.

Also, I think same about Flash's best friend (Micro Chips), it's my headcanon!! :pinkiehappy:

Since they have the geodes this takes place after Legend of everfree so please say Twilight broke with Timber.

I'm actually lost for words after reading this. Nice work, looking forward to the rest.

Twilight smiled back. “Well, thank you.” Her smile quickly fell, however, as her eyes widened in realization. “Umm, Flash,” she squeaked out, “this is going to sound weird, but can you text me your address?”

Wait a minute... didn't Sunset use to date Flash? Wouldn't she know his address?

That Saturday afternoon, Flash and his younger brother hadn’t received any job offers, so the two of them were at home enjoying a game of Plumber Karts. One little-known fact about Flash is that he sucked at video games, so unsurprisingly, First Base was thoroughly thrashing him. To Flash’s relief, the doorbell rang.

If First Base wanted to level the field and give himself a challenge, they should race on Rainbow Road, many a skill player has failed that route, there are so many horror stories about driving that road.

I'd like to think that she never had any interest in meeting his family.

“I don’t see why you can’t,”

....:fluttercry:

“He got Alzheimer’s about, I think, 4 years ago,” said Base. “It wasn’t so bad at first. He just kept forgetting things a few times, but then, he got worse, so Aunt Flare retired from the military to help take care of him. Then, he died about two years ago.” He turned his eyes towards the table before continuing, “While everyone was asleep. So, we didn’t get to say good-bye to him. That was rough.”

This part hit really close to home for me.

8984807
It's okay. It's something I have dealt with.

... well... that hit close to home too...
Not that's a bad thing, It just brings back memories form over a decade ago when I lost an uncle to bone cancer caused by lung cancer... I remember breaking down when he passed...

8986523
Don't worry. It's not over yet. Those poor kids will get better.

Flash, my boy, only take a wing-man with you...
And First... Dang, you're worse than Judith, you accepted only $20 bucks compared to 30 pieces of silver
Cute all in all.

As for the AN, it works for me to fit the prompt.
I have seen worse horse puns.
Might check them out.
Hey to each their own (I've written a one shot of Princess Twilight and Flash making love)
I didn't need a reason why.
Well in Forgotten Friendship or the Most Likely to Be Forgotten miniseries Trixie did eat Micro's carrot. Maybe she wants more.:raritywink:

This was a really sad story but at the same time also heartwarming for Sci-Twi and Flash. I think you did a very good job.

Hey, everyone, I just want to say thanks for your support and your comments. I know that this story got completed two weeks ago, but I was waiting for this to come out. https://www.deviantart.com/the-flashlight-week/journal/Flashlight-Week-it-s-over-La-semana-ha-terminado-752514463 :twilightsheepish: Again, thank you for your support of my first major contribution to the FlashLight ship. Please go check out the other entries on deviantart and YouTube. If you missed out on participating this year, don't worry. The FlashLight week is supposed to be an annual event, so you can always do something next year. Plus, Ro and Angy are going to be posting bimonthly challenges that you can participate in starting August. I don't know how people without a deviantart account can participate, but they'll probably let us know closer to the month. I look forward to my next potential contribution to this ship, and I hope that you all will too. Thanks again.

I look forward to more of your works as well.

And I am bailing.

Sorry, but I really hate the "Flash has a shitty father" headcanon. The headcanon dad I made for Flash was made as a fierce counter to this.

It's a shame, too. Up until this chapter, this was a pretty good story.

9117790
I'm sorry, okay? :raritycry: Why do you think I tried to make up for it by giving him a different positive male role model? I mean, he's dead, but he was a good person.

I go with Sci-Twi and Flash Sentry and I HATE Timber.

DAWWWWWWW

This is great! I loved this chapter!

8982857
something about that just hurts the feels ya know?
Nice Fluttershy, tho

:fluttercry:
I know what it's like to lose the people you love. I lost my great grandma when I was in seventh grade. About a year later my great uncle died from liver cancer. It hurt. It still does.

9605619
I'm sorry to hear that. :fluttershysad:

By the way, the last guy who commented on this chapter really hated my headcanon. Do you have a problem with it? I mean, I've seen both types of headcanons, and they honestly both work. This one is just the one I prefer as depressing as it is.

9605990
I don't mind. Remember, in my Spider-Man story I have Scootaloo's dad abandon her and her mother an alcoholic.

9654265
Don't give me that face. I know what I did, and believe me. It really, really hurt. :fluttercry:

I just found this story today and I knew I shouldn't have started reading it. I lost my Mom earlier this year and yeah, you've got the right of it when it comes to the emotions.

I'm a bit older and established in my life, but the loss still hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm really feeling for Flash and Base here. You did a great job with their emotional state. I'm trying my best to type this through teary eyes at the moment.

And now, to dive back in and see how this goes. :)

I just have to say this was a really nice fanfic. Probably one of my favorite flashlight stories. It was a great build-up to their relationship and the situation with Flash's mother was tragic and painful. I did get a bit teary-eyed while reading this not going to lie. Great work aside from a few grammatical errors here and there this was a great read. A nice blend of sadness and lightheadedness. Again great job.
