Impossible Numbers

"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying, And this same flower that smiles today, Tomorrow will be dying."

Okay, that kept me in suspense the whole story. God, had me on the edge of my seat for what happened next. Masterful work!

A fascinating tale of old habits dying hard and the inability to appreciate other perspectives. Plus, it does more with Double Diamond's role as enforcer than the show ever has. Excellent work. Thank you for it.

This was a very effective read. I was engaged through the entire story.

Great work with characterization, and the lesson of the story is one well worth learning.

You're welcome, mate. :coolphoto: Spot-on observa's there, (though doing more with Double D's role than the show ain't hard). :rainbowlaugh: What's really neat for me is how both those themes come together in the story, seeing as Double D's old habits came about because of his previous attempts to be good (and in his enthusiasm failing to consider other ponies' points of view).

Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it so much!

Oh yes, it is a lesson well worth learning: I'm not sure how common that message is in fiction, but it's one I can strongly get behind, and I think the answer is "not common enough". I had a lot of fun incorporating it into the parallel plotlines and into Double Diamond's characterization.

Good job this was both brilliant and moving. I really felt the emotion you were conveying. Defiantly worth the read.

What a delightful comment! It's a pleasure to hear from you, and I'm very grateful you took the time to express your thoughts and feelings about the story. Thank you very much.

Going through my old reviews, I see that I have neglected to add the favourite for this one after reading it in, er, 2019. So here it is at last. No allowance for inflation, I'm afraid.
