Too many Down votes. Lets give Mykan a little love and vote UP!

It has been a while since I’ve read a Starfleet Magic story. I think the last one was the second or (was it the third) Season with the Changelings and Cadence evil brother.

Anyway, the prologue does a decent job of introducing the villains. We learn who they are and what are their relations, get a glimpse at their goal (obtaining some kind of treasure) and see how ruthless they are.

However, the writing sometimes lacks, for a better word, emotions. Which is a shame, because the bad guys murdering and looting an entire planet full of peaceful creatures, should make the readers feel for the population.

To use an example:

This planet had not yet been discovered or visited by Starfleet, and as such it was nowhere near Starfleet’s jurisdiction.

Then, one day, trouble happened!!

Alien creatures came to the planet and began to rob the people of all their goods and riches, and anyone who dared to stand up to them paid a horrible price.

Overall it’s not bad, but I think this part would’ve been better without the last sentence. Instead the story should’ve jumped straight to the looting: Burning buildings, raiders robing everything that’s not nailed down and a frightened family cornered by a huge stallion in battle armor, pointing a (bloody?) sword at them while demanding all their riches.

But yeah, that’s just me. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Thank you. I’ve been waiting for the next chapter:pinkiehappy:

I’ve to admit, I didn’t saw that twist coming and was genuinely wondering why a pregnant women would be allowed to participate in such a dangerous training fight. Well played.🙂

“Don’t lose sight of her

You go below, I’ll go above her.”

Did he just rhyme a word with itself? That’s not how rhyming works.

Also is it just me or is Starfleet’s response to the arrival of Sienna ship a bit pathetic? I mean her ship has been described a monstrous in the previous chapter and Starfleet sends five ponies with guns to stop it? Don’t they have Spaceships, too? They are a gigantic space empire, after all.

Furthermore, why do they assume the crew of this unknown ship understands their language? For all they know this could be a peaceful alien species who never even heard of Starfleet, stumbled into their territory by accident and are now defending themselves against a bunch of strangers who attacked them without provocation. After all, they only acted hostile after Starfleet fired the first shot.

So in the next chapter the heroes and villains are going to meet for the first time. This will be interesting.

"Of her" rhymes with "above her" A rhyme isn't always a singular word, and you have to remember a rhyme is the SOUND of the word(s) not the words directly.

Don’t they have Spaceships, too? They are a gigantic space empire, after all.

No, Starfleet does not have spaceships as they are very difficult to construct, and pretty much highly unnecessary. The only practical use for ships are bases of operation, but nothing needed all that much.

That ship was on a deliberate course for United Equestria, and deliberately not answering to a call. Peaceful creatures don't enter restricted areas without warning.

So Starfleet has no fleet? That’s unexpected. That’s unexpected. And what about warfare or cargo transport? Wouldn’t you need ships for that?

Again, how would a group of peaceful aliens know that they’ve just entered a restricted area? Besides there are plenty of reason why they could’ve set course for United Equestria. Doesn’t Starfleet has some kind of First Contact Protocol for these kind of scenarios?

No, shipping and cargo is also sent along the magical pathways so they can get their destinations faster.

Again, how would a group of peaceful aliens know that they’ve just entered a restricted area?

If they were peaceful, they would have answered Starfleet

No, shipping and cargo is also sent along the magical pathways so they can get their destinations faster.

I like this idea. A pathway that allows people to travel and a space empire without space ship sound really intriguing.

So how fast can you travel on this path? Can you breathe on it or do you need some kind of space suit? How are these pathways created? Do civilians use the pathways, too? How do they expand and explore new planets?

If they were peaceful, they would have answered Starfleet

Assuming that they would’ve been able to understand their language.

I don’t know if you ever watched Babylon 5, but in the show the humans accidentally started a war with an alien race because they misinterpreted their behavior as sign of aggression. But yeah, I think it’s better if I drop it now. It’s not that big of a deal.

Never saw Babylon, but that plot happened on Captain Scarlet too

LOVING THIS SEASON..!!!!!

Flutterbat finally arrives! and also i think we might see that Mykan version of Star-Swirl himself!

Certainly not... the only idea I have planned for Starswirled and the other 5 elders is that thing I don't think I can actually make (Violates my code)

Amazing work as always, Mykan.
