When Applejack is left with no options, she turns to Twilight for a spell that will keep her awake in order to finish her work. It works like a charm… until she realizes it doesn’t wear off. Slipping into madness, Applejack turns into a monster.
I understand she loses her mind due to the potion, but this part feels..rushed.I mean, AJ wakes up, wonders what happened, thinks she beat up Filthy Rich, then she starts halucinating. She sees Filthy, and instead she is angry, considering a while ago she wondered if he was ok...
“Eiw don’t get that tonic on my perfect mane!” Trixie whined, standing back from Applejack. Applejack looked down at herself and noticed that Flim and Flam’s tonic had somehow gotten all over her fur and was continuing to drip freely from her hoof.
That is some serious sleepless stream of consciousness, right there. This is pretty visceral, and feels the way intrusive thoughts tend to; in that manner of overlapping speaking over itself-ness.
This is the best part of the story. :D A very good portrayal of someone losing their mind!
