This really is just a slice of life story, but it's cute and fun seeing these two characters aged up and see their relationship. That all felt pretty real, although I wouldn't recommend always capitalizing their (many) nicknames, although that seems to be a character quirk for Pumpkin.
There were some typos and grammar errors (I think you meant to say runes, not ruins) and there were a few weird little bits (like putting candles on an unwrapped cake, apparently) but I liked it.
