The most common complaint about EqD is that their pre-readers for fanfiction are mostly biased. Personally, I dislike how Sethisto alone seems to have control of about 80% of what goes on in the fandom.
Or at least he used to. Not sure if it's still true, since I haven't been to Equestria Daily in a long time.

896016 It's just . . . odd, is all. The fact that you even had to ask the question, I mean. Thing is, most of the mane cast and most of the popular background ponies are female, and since romance between undeveloped characters is boring, a lot of the pairings in this fandom are female/female. Plus, you know, the fandom's mostly guys. The commonality of f/f pairings is basically accepted common brony knowledge at this point, on the level of knowing what Cupcakes is. That's why people reacted that way; they figured since basically everybody in the fandom is aware of it, you must either be a raging homophobe or be trolling. And the way you censored the word "gay" made people lean towards the former option. In short, you made a simple cultural misstep. It happens.
Anyway, love the story, this is looking like an awesome setup. In addition, THIS IS RELEVANT TO YOUR INTERESTS. (It is also hilarious.)
