I don't like the first because nothing happens. There's a brief bout of sex and it just ends. I published it unedited, as is the tradition for all Stocking Stuffer material.
It's part of my psyche. Let me explain how professional fetish porn operates. No one searches for "good erotica" because they are looking for a specific fetish. No one writes it either because it is too vanilla and rather bland. It's candy: sweet, but unfilling. Those that write fetish porn for a living therefore pick a niche and stick to it. Select one too narrow, and you won't have a large enough audience to sustain income. Too large, and you'll lose people's interest because you're reaching so far. The sweet spot is around three fetishes. In the Stocking Stuffer series, I've picked impregnation, incest, and futanari/hermaphrodite. You can write the most grammatically perfect and nuanced slow burn romance between a man and a women (I won't say MLP characters, because feral/anthro is a fetish, too), but no one will buy it because it appeals to no one. Fetishes are where the money is at. That is how I develop clop stories, too.
So the first entry only shakily falls into that category because it's set before Twilight becomes a princess and therefore isn't a hermaphrodite. I still don't like it because it's very boring. It's sex without context.
I started writing the Stocking Stuffer series because I wanted to make something that required no effort. I put so much time and dedication in my other stuff, I felt a little... stuffy. This odd bit of claptrap helped me clear the air. Get some garbage out of my system. I was not trying to make them ironically bad, bad, or even good, I just wanted something written that I didn't care about all that much.
Make no mistake, I like seeing the comments and upvotes go up, but that doesn't change what they are. While the second and third are written just as sloppily as the first—an exercise in me letting go of the wheel and have some fun—there is some degree of inertia. Thoughts and feelings are happening. The second has two sisters developing a family. This one has a woman starting her own with the best foot forward as well. The last two have character motivations and reactions that, too me, make it a superior work. Not a good work, but a better work

You're taking that comment out of context. I'm not referring to fanfiction, I'll referring to paid works you buy and download, like those 5k-8k smut stories you can get off of Amazon. I'm talking about the writers who churn out 5,000 every week every year because that's their job. Of course there's always going to be people who search for free pics or works and type in "good erotica", but in the world of paid works, that's not how it's done. For one, it has a completely unknown chance of returning something you'd like; what's good is ultimately subjective because it's such a bland word, and paying for it with actual money makes the risk of picking one you don't like all the more potent. Two, searching by fetish means a buyer already knows a fetish they like. It has a higher chance of returning something they think is good/appreciable.
In this case, you get what you pay for, Skeeter. If hermaphrodites disagree with you, I'm not sure why you're here. It's what's on the tin.

But seriously, as to why the appeal for chicks with dicks? You find the fetish and kind of dumb, and to be honest, my kneejerk reaction is to think people who think that are unbearably dull and unimaginative. When people start raising a fuss about a fetish, and futanari material normally gets the short end of the stick in this regard, the attacks continuously come and try to diminish not only the fetish but the people that support it. you don't like futanari. The problem comes up when people start raising a stink about it. It does not cease to amaze me when people see something they don't like and are continuously shocked that are people like it. That's when I just roll me eyes and wonder why people even bother to make the effort to comment. As for why hermaphrodites are considered desirable, you must go back to the source for you best answer. A god.
Well, there are three main types that encompass all of them, from what I have discovered in my travels. The first and most notable is that the fusion of both the male and female form was once considered a form of perfection, the sum of both sexes, and this was none more apparent in sacred unions. That is, of course, marriage. It may not surprise you that the god's name is Hermaphroditus. People forget their history and Hermaphroditus was the child of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. That is why I paralleled that with alicorns in the Stocking Stuffer series, the closet to gods MLP has. Hermaphrodites are symbols of fertility, and certainly have sexual overtones.
That is often why you see the cum inflation fetish be so explosive inside its own community. It combines the worship angle along with the Hermaphroditus being the god(ess) of fertility. That includes being very productive, and I mean that is a real thing and not just as an excuse; worship of Hermaphroditus was suppose to may you more productive and thus have a greater chance of bearing offspring. Of course, my reference there is in terms of a Hermaphroditus cult, so your mileage may vary.
The other two are more modern reasons. The second reason is subversive domination. The phallus is often interchangeable with the spear and both are seen as a symbol of power. That means men by their nature have "power" and the women do not. Having a woman with a phallus subverts that expectation and is seen as a challenge where none formally reside. It's somewhat the equivalent to the "something new" angle stories have. Things are the same except for a new and exciting angle. This also has very loose ties to BDSM, with the most relevance being the domination angle. He who has the phallus has command. Speaking strictly in the romantic and sexual nature of things, it causes complications in the bedroom because normally the male is the one in charge because phallus equals power and control. If they both do, that throws the dynamic out of alignment. The story tension stems from this angle and it flows forward until that is solved. Hermaphrodites are often portrayed as outsiders with the end goal normally them being accepted.
Yes, there are dominant women without male naughty bits and there's the social angle to hermaphrodites, but that is outside the scope of what I am talking about.
The third and final reason is shock value. I don't like this one because I find it exploitative and toeing the line of disliking fetishes like I said above, but it still warrants a mention. That kind of reason is hinged entirely on subverting expectations rather than the subversion being a story mechanic. It's the difference between what kicks off the next story arc and a character arc. The entire focus is to trick readers/watchers/whatever because it's queued into people's dislike of leaving things unknown. It's the anti-cliffhanger. Whereas cliffhangers are normally used to keep people reading, here it is used to make people start reading. I normally find these kinds of stories shallow because it revolves entirely on surprise. If you know what the present is, you'r not surprised, and so the entire point of the story is gone. It's a one trick pony. Normally you see this hook in more exploitative work where cruelty and domination is involved. I don't like cruelty in works. Consent is sexy to me.
There is no story or cause for a shock value type of futanari. It's sort of like candy, just like I mentioned the first Stocking Stuffer is. Seriously, that story is boring. The goal of a shock value futa is to keep you interested just long enough, not keep you interested. It's a small, semantic difference, but one nevertheless. You see these kinds of stories with women that have extremely exaggerated feminine features just to contrast with the shock point all the more.
So there you go. My analysis of the futanari subgenre.

Something less about "power swapping" and more that regardless of male or female anyone can appreciate a beautiful female figure (sexually or just artistically), where men can often be too blocky or bulgy in their frames and not be appealing to a number of men or women. You did a good job of weaving in the story through subtext, and dialogue, in a way that doesn't distract from the scene with blocks of exposition.
If one chooses, they can ignore the story elements and simply focus on the base, physical actions of the scene.
Giving the reader that kind of lateral choice while reading, even as they are unaware of the choice, gives them a subliminal amount of control over the reading experience, and that is difficult to master as a writer. It lets the story appeal to a wider range of reading 'styles'.

I come from the Sanderson School of plot devices. Plot-related mechanics should be hidden in humor or disguised as something else. It's my particular style to widen the focus just enough to give the impression that more is going on in the world at large. I find sexual preference to be more on a sliding scale then a binary yes or no. From my own experience, people that lean more towards futanari-related material are more towards the middle of that scale. When seeing a crossdresser, most responses lean towards it either being a trans women, or a sex thing. Not to be the misanthrope, but have you seen people lately? I, for one, am never surprised that they fail at understanding something simple like this. Usually, I find, because they try to understand it on a basis of "how does <thing> work for me" and because it doesn't apply to them, they can't come up with an answer. Their response then tends to be dismissive or even hostile. Because they weren't smart enough to consider "how does <thing> work for the person who is dealing with the situation", and if they lack an answer, then asking questions until their curiosity is satisfied - thus the issue or situation is now 'understood' and thus does not need to be a subject of ridicule or hostility.
