When Twilight Sparkle travels to Las Pegasus out of boredom, looking to see what other libraries may have to read (seeing as she has read every book in her library already), she meets a mysterious librarian who gives her mysterious documents that are supposedly the "real" history of Equestria and the princesses. Out of curiosity, she took the documents to see what they have to say.
What will Twilight do when she learns that the history of Celestia and Luna was a lie? What will Celestia do when Twilight learns the truth about her true past? What will Luna do when she learns that she is not truly who she believes she is? Celestia holds many secrets that she's not even willing to tell her own sister.
But Celestia is not the only one who knows about her dark secrets...
This is a reboot to my original "The Dark Defender" and "Project Cyba" series'. Takes place 5 years after the Season 6 finale.
This is similar to the story "There is no Luna" where we got an alternate origin of Luna. I always imagine she found out her self, but liked her life so much she pretended not to know.

7824986 Well I think your story might be using the same concept. This doesn't mean your copying it, after all I've noticed more than a few times stories used the same concept, like following the different timelines we glimpsed in the season 6 finally, or Twilight being secretly Celestia's daughter.

Well, if that story was about Luna not originally being real, that's not what I'm doing. But her existence isn't what the history books says it is. You'll start to understand later.
7829554 Well you could read it. But it's not about her not existing as a physical being, it about the her origin and identity. So yes I see parallels as you work seem to be going toward the idea Luna's perceived identity is different from her real one. I've seen stories and fan theories on that idea of the "real" princesses vs their depiction in cannon material. This isn't an accusation of plagarisum, I see no reason to think that your take won't unique.

Well, in the sense of a "mistaken identity" idea, then yes. But Luna is only part of the focus of a bigger "false history" (if you'll pardon the name drop). And I'm not accusing you of accusing me of anything either.
The history books say Unicorns stopped raising the sun and moon when the sisters came to Equestria, it doesn't say they started doing it when they arrived so maybe they where already born when the Queen took over? I would make the comment from The Crystaling that "The Birth of an Alicorn is something Equestria has never seen" be true, if the princesses where born outside Equestria. I am instersted to see what was outright revision, forgotten and what was actively omitted from Equestrian History. Like the Castle in the Everfree, ponies could have just started calling it "The Castle of the Two Sisters" even though the name never officially changed. Also things might be called something different due to translation imperfections or perceived different as words take on new meanings, then we have phrases that mean one thing but are percieved to mean something else later. The Phrase "A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss" for example Moss was originally a metaphor for Knowledge now we think of it as a metaphor for Stagnation or "You Only Live Once" is used as a declaration to engage in risky behavior but it's meant to mean "be careful". How many perceptions and sayings among the ponies are the same as these real life examples? What are lies and what are just failures to correct false beliefs?
I would speculate but I think I'd be too on the nose. Though I doubt the antagonists plan is going to unfold the way he thinks. The ponies have lived under the ideals of the Elements for so long their nature probably isn't the same as a thousand years ago. The reformation of Discord, the transformation of the changelings, the "birth" of new Alicorns(only flurry being literal of course) he might fail to see just how ready to forgive ponies are now.
I am curious if you will go back and rewrite this after the movie, being 6 years in the shows future the events of the movie will have happened.

Yeah, I've taken into consideration that the movie may affect things. I came up with the idea of this story before I learned about the movie. However, I am keeping this story malleable so that any events from future seasons/movies that may change things can be changed. But the idea of this story is that I'm literally rewriting history. Which will help protect it from any changes in lore of the show.
I am curious as to what you're speculating though. Because if it is on the nose as you believe, I would be impressed...depending on what you're speculating about.

As for your question, Solanales is an order of plants, containing for example potatoes, eggplants or tomatoes, all of these three in the genus Solanum. Though I presume S. dulcamara is what inspired the shady librarian’s design
