This is my first time doing a Hearths Warming fic, so I beg you to bare with whatever crappiness you find, please.
Rainbow Dash has to help make snow for the upcoming Hearths Warming celebration. While on her job, she spies a filly on the ground. Concerned for her, she goes to see what is wrong. After finding out that the filly is an orphan, she adopts her with the thought already forming in her mind to spend Hearths Warming with her. Now she has even more motivation to work twice as hard, other than just her own self challenge.

This was awesome so far, definitely gonna read the next chapters when they come out! I also like how it's set, makes it diffrent from other Scootadopt stories. I find the idea of Scoots meeting Rainbow for the first like this very intriguing, I'm very exited for the next chapters

That kind of talking to your audience explicitly is best done sparingly.
This plot has been done 1000 times, that doesn't mean you can't do it, but you should try and do something unique with it.
Careful about turning Scoots into a woobie.
But keep writing, the world needs more Scootadopt.

7806077 This is a possible scenario for before they met. It's not what happens if they had met later, or if they hadn't met at all. All the important events will still happen normally. Nothing will change. The alternate universe tag only counts for the aforementioned types.

You've already made a huge change. Yes I know it's been a while but it's little things like this that will affect your reader base. Twilight was not a princess around the time Rainbow would have met Scootaloo. Not officially anyway. This story would make more sense if Twilight was never even mentioned. Scootaloo would have already been a fixture in Ponyville before Twilight even showed up.
Also, big goof. You had Scootaloo rummaging through the trash and smelling like, well, the trash. If you ever decide to revisit this you need to address this issue. At the point where Rainbow Dash was nuzzling Scootaloo, I'd think Dash's eyes would have been watering from the smell. From there they should be dumping her in a washtub. It would be a great spot for happy wing splashing and every pony getting all wet. As is you set it up, but then you don't do anything with it.
