E

Pinkie Pie is close with her family, be it her immediate relatives or her honorary one. A not-too-recent visit from her immediate family, as well as her discovery of being related to Applejack, have given her even more reasons to be close, and to be joyful. But when she discovers the family record of her new friend Quiver Quill, she goes off to discover whether or not they have a relative in Ponyville in the hopes of sharing that joy with them. But she soon gets a reminder that there's more than one way to have a family.

Parts of this story are adapted from "Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Ponypalooza Party", written by G. M. Berrow, as well as "Hearthbreakers", written by Nick Confalone, and "Maud Pie" written by Noelle Benvenuti.

Basic doesn't necessarily mean bad. Case in point, this story. I don't really have any major criticisms against this one, and it was an overall enjoyable read. Have an upvote.

Not much I can say other than great job on this one-shot. The exchanges, emotional content and general wrap-up are well done in all the right places. You did a splendid job working with the inspiration you were given and I loved the interactions between the friends and family. VERY appropriate story considering how close it is to Thanksgiving, I'll definitely be looking forward to more of this as soon as time and inspiration will allow.

7724739 Glad that you enjoyed it as well. I assure you, the near-Thanksgiving release was purely coincidental.

Well, this was fun, and it makes me want to read that book even more.

In what season did Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Ponypalooza Party debut?

7725120 That was a book by G. M. Berrow. If my memory is right, it was published during the hiatus between Seasons Three and Four.

I have to say, I really like your explanation for how Pinkie Pie came from the Rock Farm to Sugarcube Corner. It really affirms how much her father cares for her - and how, in spite of their eccentricities, the Pie Family are a good bunch.

It seemed the sensible explanation for why someone would let one of their youngest children go off to live on their own at so young an age. That no one's objected to it doesn't hurt.

Yeah, it does seem like the most reasonable explanation. ^_^
