A very good entry, I must say. I like the reference to Celestia's last attempt to save some of the populace; none of the other submissions have done that, to be sure.

Thanks for reading! I'm glad you like it. When I wrote this, I wanted to focus on Celestia precisely because she lovers her ponies so much in the show and yet she's so alien. Naturally, this gave me a really interesting idea to look into the psychology of a divine immortal being who embodies love and life, but would still need some reason to unleash a horrifying plague upon her beloved ones rather than just cop losing a war on the chin. I was also admittedly partially inspired by your story, Luna's Demise.
