Twilight Sparkle's biggest passions in life, friendships aside, have always been magic and science, and especially the academic practices of such. Some knew that she held history was just below those first two, and from Starswirl the Bearded to the return of Nightmare Moon, Twilight thinks she knows everything about the history of Equestria.

Little does she know. Very little indeed.

When an experiment combining her three greatest academic loves goes awry, she and her friends discover that history as they know it is a nice fabrication, a fiction crafted by time (and Princesses Celestia and Luna, perhaps) that has basis in a bit of truth. Now living in a time they know almost nothing about, The Mane Seven and Spike will craft their own futures and history by playing the game to define the era: The Game of Thrones.

But you don't just play the Game. You win it. Or you die.
