7015135 Thank you for your kind words! There was originally no sequel to this story, and I don't really have anything planned, so I guess I can offer my opinions on how this story can go:
1. Trixie was probably caught again - considering her rap sheet - and sentenced properly.
2. Twilight's letter probably would have consisted of her pouring out her feelings, like Celestia did in her letter, and they would both go on to lead very happy and fulfilling lives together (not as a couple, though. I wanted to make that very clear!). The reason I ended it like I did was to sort of create a cycle of story-telling; this fanfiction begins and ends with the same phrase (much like The Outsiders)
This is ok so far. You could seriously use an editor though, and the bear joke really took away the somber mood and does not fit with what is happening.

An octave is a huge distance. 2 octaves is the difference between a bass voice and a soprano voice. The vast majority of people’s voices only have a range of around 2 octaves, plus a bit with the addition of falsetto. Someone’s voice raising “a few octaves” is impossible for all but the most virtuosic of singers, and even then it’s incredibly difficult.
