Not bad, though I do have a few (slight) issues.
Unless RD is genuinely hurting somebody, which is not the case here, I don't buy Fluttershy working up the courage to say something about it.
If Sunset is really that good, and just didn't want to embarrass RD, don't you think she'd be more amused than irritated at her bragging?
I don't care who you are, if you're in high school, you know what Pokemon is and have some understanding of how it works (in fact, I think Sci-Twi should've assumed they were playing Pokemon on the simple fact that they each had a 3DS in their hands)
It feels kind of weak and empty that we didn't get to see any of the matches outside of the first one. I really would've liked to see each of their teams, and hear some of the jabs made towards each other over their picks (which may have allowed you to lead up to the Sunset thing a little better)
The punchline was meh.
Overall, I don't think any of these points especially hurt the story. These were just small things that bother me and probably me alone. The only points that should be seriously considered are the last two. The ending didn't really do much for the story, and it kinda just came out of nowhere. Still, I enjoyed it enough to give it a like.
6932724 I actually agree with all of your points, especially the one about Fluttershy being a bit OOC. This was written in about half an hour on a dare from a friend to write something dumb in that time-span, so it's easily one of the worst stories I've written. But eh, what can you do when it comes to a challenge like that?
