Considering Equestria is a land of magic, Cheerilee seems a bit dismissive. Also Diamond seems to be a bit knowledgeable, referring to the shadow as a Shade.
Seems like Diamond has been through this trouble before.
Hopefully everyone will think twice about chocking things up as tall tales. Pretty good story, and an interesting creature.

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed the story! It's true, Equestria is a magical land. That said though kids are kids and they have told some big stories in their time. I know when I was one I did on a couple of occasions. Plus it served a purpose for the story.
Good thing there wasn’t a flight of stairs outside that window, or it’d be a real Exorcist moment there.
