Another great chapter I have to say, it's kind of refreshing to see Free and Jerry just accept Sentinel's methods after questioning their lack of morality instead of going on a tirade about 'doing better' like we often see (I'm looking at you Blackjack. Yes, you! Just because a pony has a tragic past, it doesn't mean they can slaughter a town and then just pay with a couple hours of volunteering)

Thank you very much. I'm trying to make this story as entertaining as possible without it being too predictable (though I'm sure it is; there's just too many tropes to deal with). I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Hey Regolit, thanks for the input.
Fear can make the most rational minded people do irrational things. Its part of the fight or flight mentality. You also have to take into account that outside of their small little 'town' is wasteland, harsh and unforgiving. The only reason they can survive here is because of that grass. Who can say what the reasons were that they chose to stay? Maybe they were more afraid of the unknown than of the raiders. Its something I can probably revisit in a later chapter (and plan to ).
EDIT: As for being under the rule of the Gouged Eye, they're not. The raiders are more like a problem in the area. Like a gang in a nearby neighborhood. The violence could spill over to you at any point, but you just assume that it won't because you don't want to live in constant fear. Then when it does, you just want things to return to normal even though your sense of safe space is completely ruined.
Lastly, the skipping of several days, well, I could describe them walking through wasteland, but I figured I'd skip to the next bit of interesting stuff. Call it fast travel
I had a slow day at work today, so readI on my phone, meaning no nitpicks... beside mentioning a few [/hr] mistakes here and there. I did notice aher few missing words as well, so would recomend re-reading the chapther with some fresh eyes.
Beside the whole cliche ''we hate you because you saved us'' was it a really nice chapter, nice seeing our first big fight as well as some humor thrown in here and there, and yes they are some nice folks indeed!

I have such a problem with that stupid code. Thank you. :)
