It's nice to see the middle ground taken. While I believe that all ponies involved would want to settle the matter and move on, so many stories have them cling to their sour grudges like a favorite pillow, and that... doesn't paint our favorite mini-equines in a very good light, as far as I see it.
On another note, I think Trixie would honestly respect Rarity's talents. She's a self-made pony, so she'd not begrudge another self-made pony their dues... as long as it's not in her field.
Ugh.
