I think you need a bit more description. Almost every paragraph is dialogue.

6152776 Funny you bring up the sickness. This is, on the slightest of technicalities, a sequel, though I prefer to think of it as a spiritual successor. Th "first" story had a big flaw, and that flaw is that it focused far too much on the illness and drama instead of the romance. That might either be because I'm terrible at combining themes, or because it was my first romance story. Still, I hope that you can gleam some of what happened to bring them together from future chapters.

If it's any consolation, Ms. Gruff has a pretty good reason, and her willingness to use Twi and throw her away as she plans to is rather justified. I understand if you wanna tap out on this story, but I'd ask you to keep an open mind in regards to Brazen's story. It's like watching a movie that, for the most part, is really fun and happy, but has one dark bit forty minutes in. Brazen, as she stands, is "forty minutes in".
tl;dr: I get why you feel like that, but it's all explained and justified soon. I hope to see you give it another chance.

That joke did not seem all that harmless. Spike is upset and probably insulted, and Rarity was for a short while under the impression that her little sister was alone with a sexual predator. Twilight did not even try to stop Rarity or go after her in order to tell her that Brazen was not being serious.
6160456 Brazen is based off of a person I know. She is a cruel, vile, terribly mean person, and she would sometimes play mean jokes like this on people. She was my best friend, and I tended to be more lenient with her.
Not saying that Twilight is in the right for letting that joke slide, rather, I'm pointing out that certain people change our behavior in different ways. Brazen tends to make Twilight a bit more loose and scummy. I think we can all think of at least one "bad" friend we have.

Your fic is well written, I just have a tendency to prefer more slice of lifey type relationship with not a lot of drama. So just cause I found that this fic wasn't for me, don't be discouraged because there are people that enjoy that kind of fic! Best of luck with the rest of your story!

Being her father, he's gotten it into his head that Twilight must bend to his will at the drop of a dime. It's a terrible way to interact with your child, which would explain why he had never met Rarity before The Dinner.

6345726 Put yourself in Rarity's position for a sec. She knows very little about dragons and what she does know must be taken with a grain of salt, since Spike is something if an outlier. Then, Brazen comes in and is confirmed, by Twilight, to be something of an expert. I'd believe Brazen if I was in that position and, unlike Rarity, I actually do feel like the world is out to get me.

Trust me, you're not missing out on much. This entire story was a mess, and wasn't that good even for the time I wrote it. Now, it's aged about as well as milk. My biggest regret is that I never finished Brazen's arc, but even that was going nowhere fast.
Do yourself a favor and find an actually good romance to read, instead of this. You can do much better, and, frustratingly enough, so can I.
