Metamorphosis

Stunned silence filled the room.

Everypony blinked, once, twice, three times.

And then... Pinkie smiled.

This place is amazing.

Everything is made of stars - there is blue and green, and it's incredible to look at.

The pain is almost gone - it's building again, but I think it will end soon.

I'm in a hallway of memories, it seems. From my first, to my last, as I approach my cutie mark at the end of the hallway. The song seems to have gained a small amount of lyrics, and I can't quite tell who's singing it - myself, or Celestia, as it sounds a bit like her voice. It's all so incredible.

I reach out, and touch it.

Twilight twitched again on the bed, and Rainbow backed up. Pinkie was smiling, and hopping excitedly, and her hair was curly again.

Rarity was crying tears of joy - she thought that they would lose Twilight, yet here she was, just growing wings, after all of that.

Applejack felt as if she was going to do the same, just on the inside.

Fluttershy was weeping away all the worry they once felt. She was so glad that Twilight was okay. (Nopony realized that they left Spike at home, and he was panicking as he thought something awful was happening to Twilight.)

Rainbow smiled as well... It would be only much later that she would realize she hurt her wings quite a bit just to get the others to understand, and it would be a day or two until she could fly again.

Twilight was twitching more now, as her wings grew in more and more...

My horn lit up as I touched it, and it's magic wrapped around me, lifting me into the air as it spiraled around me in an incredible light show. I once again relived everything that had happened to me - My destiny in front of me, as I prepared for anything.

Twilight's horn had lit up, and her magic glowed brighter and brighter as it surrounded her form, lifting her into the air.

Her friends all took a few steps back and watched in complete awe at the spectacular showing of magic. It almost hurt their eyes to look at, and they had to squint them to see the bare outline of Twilight's cutie mark in the light show.

In a brilliant flash, it was over, and Twilight descended.

I opened my eyes as I woke up, standing on a hospital bed, my friends in front of me. They stared at me in total awe. I was so happy to see them again.

I smiled...

...and unfurled my new wings.

My friends shed tears of joy, and leapt towards me in a group hug.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned, that if something bad was to ever happen to you, your friends will always stay by your side.
It doesn't matter if you are the only thing holding them together.
It doesn't matter if grief from what happened tears them apart.
Their shared effort and love for you will keep them going strong, and they will do whatever it takes to save you.

Your forever faithful student,
Princess Twilight Sparkle

Twilight smiled as she walked down the aisle, the singing behind her announcing her as princess. Celestia had decided to coronate her for her efforts in saving Equestria, and for her alicornhood. The dress she wore was crafted by Rarity, her crown was her Element of Harmony, Magic.

Or, was it Friendship? After all, they were exactly the same to her.

Twilight continued, her crown of Friendship placed upon her head, as she turned to face the crowd as they all cheered in awe and amazement, and love for their new Princess.

Twilight felt that everything was going to be just fine.

OMG!

And yes, I know this last chapter was really short compared to the others, but to me, it's PERFECT.

So here it is: the final chapter of Metamorphosis.

Rereading this story, it feels very rushed. Some things were way over exaggerated, some things did not get enough attention. But I was not quite as good as a writer as I am now, so I can excuse it.

Also, quick shoutout to Sakuralovelight, who kept on reminding me to keep this story going! It probably would've taken another YEAR to finish if someone wasn't encouraging me to keep making more!

Wow it's finally over. I enjoyed reading it, the feelings of some characters were intense, and Twilight's parts always had a some sort of emotion looming over them. Thank you for writing this story. I love seeing a good story completed. I know for a fact most of them aren't but I'm glad you did.
