Oh, this was enjoyable. I really liked how you managed to capture the Supernatural vibe with ponies. Well, ponies and griffon. And like some others have said there were some small problems, but it was quite good and readable as it is.
707426 Probably because they both have semi-sympathetic backstories, they both came out of their episodes worse off, they're both kinda cool (Gilda's a predator, Trixie is kind of like a stand up comedian) and finally their chemistry is hilarious because it's a snark war that never stops.

707790 I'm not the author... but in my more general sense, not quite that so much as "vitriolic best buds", as the trope goes. They do actually care for & trust one another, deep down, but they'd never admit it even to themselves. Mainly because both of them secretly enjoy their constant bickering.
Possible anime parallel: Ichigo and Renji, or Ichigo and Ishida, from Bleach. They're nakama (ie, they'd die for one another) but every conversation they have turns into either one-upmanship, a massive argument over something minor or the one with the current advantage lording it over the other.
It's a hilarious dynamic when done right, and massive fun to write.

708300 Not true, there are sixteen seasons but I have only seen up to ten, the other six are not made in English yet and to be frank, I think Bleach is aweosme as fuck but I REALLY HATE how it goes from serious to comady, I mean it does that all the time, it's very stupid and they need to get a lot more serious for the series, it's anot a show for little kids yet not one for adults like Spawn, ya know?

The latter comes of how their culture had the "battles of honour" societal standard (among Samurai) much more recently than our own, while the former I like because it's kind of how life is... in a way, anyway. The reason for the "get up and fight" thing is twofold. First off, it shows that the person who made the attack didn't put enough force behind it for it to be actually fatal (for any one of a number of reasons - mercy, hesitation, underestimation of what it would take) and the other thing is that in the Bleach setting it is canonical that having a lot of reiatsu means you're REALLY tough. Your power makes you stronger. That's been explicit since the Rescue Rukia arc.

I think Critic has the right of it there, Thorax, though given I'm doing my own story involving some less commonly used as serious characters, after reading this, I'm kinda wondering how they'd tag team. Probably with Spitfire and Nightshade finding the undead and dealing with them peacefully where possible, but Gilda and Trixie called in when peaceful goes out the window. Which'd kinda work, and could well work in their favour since that'd give the supernatural hunters 18 ponies as potential backup/interference and there's probably something to be said for having friends in fairly high places, particularly ones with money....

Read the story, going to have to say it was a lot better than i expected, since im not a big fan of trixie or gilda. Gilda and Trixie are a very interesting duo. They both have this renegade dynamic, like they don't quite fit into Equestrian society and instead live on the fringe, so they mesh well. Even when they fight and bicker. Especially when they fight and bicker.
Hope to see more of this, definitely.
