When Radiant Wish learns she's pregnant with a colt, she and her husband, Cloudshaper, are ecstatic. Every parent wants what's best for their children, so rumors of a village where everypony is accepted as equal piques the couple's curiosity. How great would it be to raise a foal without fear of adversity? Starlight Glimmer, the village mayor, seems like a nice pony, but the price of equality is great. Can Radiant make such a sacrifice?

this was a great story, It is interesting to see the effects of the equal mark on handicap pony. this was, in my opinion a slightly different teak of the town.

I thought about it a bit, thinking what would happen to them after, but I decided I prefer to leave it as a mystery. I would imagine they both stay in the village and live happier lives after the events of the episode. I also left exactly when the story take place intentionally vague, so we don't know how long before season 5 this takes place. For all we know, Starlight has been running this community for a decade.
This was a fun, twisted read - I like it.

Only thing I have to say about it that hasn't been said a gazillion times is that there was nothing political about the concept. The episodes were about celebrating differences, even if your friends like things that you don't. The soviet union references were definitely fun for adult fans, and I had a lot of fun playing around with the concepts here. In the end though, MLP is still a family show. If you think back about kids in playground, they often judge anyone who's different. This is what this episode was about.
